Verlander's demise is vastly overstated. He is completely capable of shutting teams down still.. and having multiple good if not great seasons. He is only 32.. not 42. I honestly believe he can still have 2 or 3 more really nice seasons. By season's end his numbers probably won't look to bad.... Big picture... as long as the Tigers add another top end arm.. no reason why the Tigers can't field a nice rotation next year and be back to contending.

Tigers really may have found something in Marte... I want to see him at 3rd a few games and see how his defense is... How he isn't on a single Tigers prospect list is beyond me...

I read a story yesterday that Brad wanted to give Miggy the day off Saturday. The other coaches had been trying to get him to put victor at first base since Miggy hurt but he refused. The coaches had been working Victor out at first base told Brad he was good to go he finally relented last night. Why would he want to give Miggy day off when they had a day off coming Monday and why would he not use victor at first base? I wonder what other weird ideas he has had this year?

His thought process was that he didn't want him to play back to back games because of the injury right off the bat. It was a stupid idea from Ausmus. Miggy didn't have a rehab assignment, so if he doesn't play he isn't going to get comfortable again hitting. Ausmus is a jackass. He over thinks everything. He isn't a good manager and NEVER will be. He has no personality. The greatest managers in the history of the game have the aura of a leader. Fat Gene Lamont has more of an aura of leader than he does. I can't wait for the day he is fired. It was a mistake hire.

I'd been waiting for him to put a few good starts together. QS in 4 of the last 5, with a 1.75 ERA over that stretch. Too bad he's only 1-3 in those games. Crappy hitting support, for sure.

I also read that our new GM is not married 100% to Brad..... I look at that a typical management assessment because Avila didn't hire hire him he isn't responsible if he gets rid of him... dd is the one that owns him....
