Tigers recall Gorzalanny... they are for sure trying to tank for a high draft pick now.

Tigers season :fap:. I sure hope they don't keep winning just enough to have a middle of the road draft pick again... Would be nice to be top ten so they can sign any free agent without losing the 1st rounder.

But since old man pizza isn't looking long term.. they will probably end up just outside the wild card, end up with the 20th pick... then lose it when they sign a free agent starter that had a qualifying offer....

Why not just concede the next 2 months... tank... and get a protected top 10 pick... sign who ever you want... only lose a second rounder... and get another great prospect to add to the farm. Tigers currently have the 14th pick... but are only 3 games up on the 10th pick... tank it!!!!

The Tigers offense has been quite good without Miggy... Offense hasn't been the issue... Pitching has been... and I don't see that getting any better until next season.

Not sure why the Tigers are keeping young arms like Guido Knudsen or Paul Voelker in the minors.. and recalling Gorzelanny... it makes no sense. Give the young arms the chance to see if they have MLB stuff instead of trying them out next year in desperation. Now is the time to see what the young arms on the farm have. Not to see what some washed up scrub can do after shitting his pants for 4 months to start the season.

Tigers are just so horrible at developing relievers in house... its disgusting.. they have guys with talent in the minors... they really need to get someone to run the pitching development. Go raid the Marlins or Cardinals coaching... they never need to pay high prices for a closer... and they always have a good one.

Someone should teach Iggy how to run the bases I have seen him run up the grass in fair territory to first base many times this year

I think it says something about the coaching staff when the Tigers struggle on the regular vs rookie pitchers they haven't seen before like they did with Greene when he was with the Yankees and many others... I feel like the Tigers approach at the plate is not as scouted as many other big league clubs. They do well against pitchers they have seen.. but new guys that may not even be that good they struggle... poor preparation is the only reason I can think of...

Verlander throwing 96... cant locate... walking guys with .121 ba... Tigers can't get outs.. watching them this year is not fun. Ausmus management in no way is good.. he should be gone.

Some rotten luck for Verlander. Red Sox score 2 without hitting a ball out of the infield. A bad bounce on Kinsler and really poor judgment by Marte on another grounder. But the walks didn't help either. And JV had gone 3 starts without a walk.

Verlander's command is still not right. Everything else looks good. I think he has a good shot at having a decent year next year.. but this year is a wash.

It's funny listening to Rod and Mario talking about the Tigers and the Wild Card race like they actually have a shot. Sorry, they aren't leapfrogging 6 other teams with this crap pitching staff. They are mathematically alive, but their chances are like 0.002%.

LOL... Gorzelanny faces his first batter after coming back from Toledo and serves up a bomb to a left-hander hitting a buck-20.

Detroit... the place where relief pitchers' careers come to die.

Tigers need to swallow their pride and tank the rest of the year. Get a top ten pick and regroup for next year. Sticking around .500 isn't going to help at all. Gorzelanny should be DFA'd and they should call up a young arm to get him experience.

Nobody can blame Verlander for this. He was actually quite good today.
