I'm rooting for us to continue losing.

Won't vocalize it much on here, just want to you guys to know where I stand.

Looking forward to the sell off tbh.

I 2nd that !!!

best thing that could happen so this franchise could move forward
With the huge lump of millions coming off the books from Free Agents and the addition of young arms from trades, I don't see why they couldn't compete next year if they sell this month.

Even Price and Dickerson are commenting right now on the radio broadcast how it's unrealistic to think they can compete with the pitching they have.

Once again, I 100% agree with you.

A good friend of mine, well a couple, recently stated, "get some pitching, get some more pitching and oh by the way get some more damn pitching

now is the time for DD to gear up and beat other teams to the punch on trades before the lack of quality in return vanishes, IMO.

trade any of the following if it's for high quality near MLB ready talent
Price
Cespedes
Soria
Kinsler

and any of other FA to be, if the return has + value

It's getting pathetic now.

Ausmus has to go.

They might be able to salvage the season with Gardenhire.

Friday night's collapse followed by 2 horrible losses should be Ausmus's death sentence.

I'm not really sure why Ilitch hasn't fired Ausmus.

Maybe he fears a backlash from Southfield's influential rabbis?

there's 74 games remaining after the break. you have no idea what you'll get from JV but you do know what you'll get from the 4th and 5th SP. The BP blows more than a ****** on the Las Vegas strip.

16 starts from one of the top 3 in Price, Sanchez and JV
15 starts each from the other two
and 14 starts from the 4th and 5th SP

the tigs would have to win at a .580 clip the rest of the way, more than likely, to get a WC slot.

Why chance the "IFS" cuz the bats went cold as ice against Boston in the ALCS, Frisco in the WS and then there was last year

Avila should go....
He'd be the guy who teams would have to overpay to rent imo.

The offense is better with a guy who sees more pitches like him. He's one of the few lefties we have, is a very solid defensive catcher these days and won't cost much to resign. I'd love to see he and McCann share duties behind the plate next year. And the year after and the year after that.

But we could always resign him in the offseason if we do deal him. He has value in the trade market right now, that's for sure.

I'm starting to think this JV guy doesn't like Ausmus for some reason......

you'll get a supplemental round 1A pick for Price but you won't get squat for YC, Soria, Avila, Raji and if anyone wanted Kinsler then let them have him.

Kinsler has made better contact recently and he's driving the ball better but he seems to have lost a step defensively. Off year for him maybe.

yep...

but I truly believe he would understand the situation to get something for him with the ever unspoken word to go after him when the off-season begins. Plus, he's a leader in the clubhouse not to mention the HUGE asset that he is to the pitchers.

With all the parody this year, the return on big name impact guys should be higher than ever. Price could bring a Kings ransom. Cespedes should bring multiple near MLB ready prospects. Even Soria with his love of giving up the longball would be of value to teams thin at the backend.

JV isn't going anywhere (contract) and he'd prolly pay Avilas salary himself in the offseason if it came down to it. He love that furry little backstop.

:10:

AGAIN 100% agreed

Even Soria with his love of giving up the longball would be of value to teams thin at the backend.

Soria had one of the worst outings he could have yesterday but prior to that he had 7 straight appearances where he gave up 0 runs. Someone out there would need/use him as a set-up or possibly situational closer. He's still got LOTS of value on the market for teams in contention AND he comes cheaply $$$$ for the remainder of the year

Buttttttttttttt :L :L :L AGAIN

for the Phenomenal job that the backend of the rotation is doing and has done for the last two months

I'm so damn glad the 1st half of the season is coming to an end
