Editorial: Ausmus has to be gone. But, this team has clearly not quit. Impressed with the effort the last few games. It's been bad baseball. But it's been fun to watch.

Gotta laugh.. he doesn't pinch hit for avila.. or pinch run for him... he doesn't pinch hit for romine..

On another note.. Kinsler was out.. you could see his shoe bend back from the glove hitting it.

Window is closing fast for them.. Next year they are screwed... No starting pitching... Bullpen getting expensive.. losing Gordon... Hope they enjoy that division title... it might be 30 years before they get another one.

Houston could dominate the AL for awhile if they get another good pitcher.. Also if guys like Correa pan out how they are suppose to..

It wasn't suppose to be their year.. They are ahead of progress IMO.. I know the front office has had some major fuckups but they have a lot of talent in their farm atm..

Houston is a HUGE market... once they get good.. they can afford to pay to stay there. KC is one of the smallest pro sports markets in the US... they don't get big money tv deals or other revenue streams.. they are dead in the water as all their guys start to climb in price.

I was just coming here to say the same thing... didn't he just get a day off not to long ago? And they had an off day Thursday. Batting Romine 2nd? Really? Ausmus doens't want to win this game... its in the Tigers best interest not to win.. they are almost out of the top 10 draft picks... currently #9... but from a pure baseball stand point.. its a joke.

Thoughts -

• Tigers won yesterday in spite of Ausmus... His lack of pinch hitting for guys like avila and romine almost cost them
• Al Al needs to be DFA'ed not brought back. He is awful. He has 4 balks... the entire team has 8.. he accounts for 50%. He is no better than a Knudsen or Ferrell and costs 6 times as much.
• Simon's next contract and this start have a lot to do with each other... If he can get a decent start... he might find a suiter for himself as a starter next year.
