Today's rainout was great. Today, tommorrow and Thursday without games. Im hoping Tuesday or Wednesday or both get rained out in Chicago too. (I don't understand the off days before and after a two game in-division series, but I like the timing.)

You might get your wish....supposed to rain here in chicago all week....both games could get rained out.

I'm telling you guys, were going to have triple headers come August unless they want to push the season back till December because the Tigers can't get their games in under inclement weather.

What scares me is yes the rest days are good, but if nagging injuries pop up later in the season there won't be any rest days....Better win when healthy because hardly no days off later means trouble. Andy Dirks is probably happy though, haha.

All these missed games are not good.....team needs to play....may have to do spring training over or finish the season in Florida in December. ....

But the missed games mean less impact with Ani Sani on the DL.(the future double headers might mean a few call ups for starting pitching when there's 8 games in a week.) We can make the games up in September, when were in coast mode. Travis, Suarez, Ray, Fields, maybe Knebel,.... Dirks.......maybe even Crawford can get plenty of action once the rosters expand that way. (I've been eyeing the forecast cleeves.)

If the tigers dont fix their pen there wont be a coast mode this year. There are decent teams in the central that have a bullpen.

Sun popping in and out here...hopefully they will get the game in....sprinkled earlier but i see some blue sky as of now....but i do live 20-25 mins south of the cell....so who knows....

Well, hey, they got the game in. Tigers with four straight 2-out hits in the 6th to tie it, and some small ball (Holaday's bunt single) to win it. JV showed the professional he is -- bad third inning, but ground out four more scoreless frames after that when it looked like he didn't have his best stuff. Only four strikeouts, but he did K the last two batters he faced with a runner on third. And Joe Nathan with a rare (this season) 1-2-3 ninth.

Good game and yet another 1-run win for the Bengals.

I agree. We clinched with 5 games left last year, and that bullpen wasn't near the disaster that this year's is. I don't see any coasting this season.

Yep. Sox starter Noesi cruised through the order the first three innings, then the Tigers score four runs the second time through.

Tigers fortunate to not face Danks this series, or Sale in either series.

Anyone else like the way ausmus is using jd martinez? Start him vs the starters who are AAA worthy. Since he can hit in the minors, match him up with the sorry starters and hope he runs into one like jimmy used to say...

Yes, a typical Scherzer start: 4 IP, no runs, 6 Ks ... and it takes 75 pitches to get there! Sure hope he goes 6 clean, with an outside hope of 7.
