Story of the year with JV. Brad tries to get more out of him than he should, innings wise. Hope that changes in the second half.

That's my point. The pen should have 7 8 and 9th inning guys. Don't have em, go get em dagnabbit!!

Not worried about what a guy has done in past. Screw pitch counts and manage to win.

JV was at 83 pitches after 6. A whole lotta Monday Morning quarterbacking going on from those who said they'd pull him then. A couple hard line drives among the first three singles, maybe then you pull him. But after that, a dribbler for an infield single and another dribbler that scored a run. JV has given up his share of hits that are totally on him, but that was some rotten luck there.

probably Don kelly. JD has taken away all his AB's in the OF . With Victor able to play 1B and Romine can play 3B. Not sure if they can keep DK for ocassional duty at 1b/3b. As far as trades, not sure they want to trade Davis and Hunter's contract is not tradeable.

I read a article the other day about a team desperately needing a right handed OF....Can't remember the team maybe it was the Angles I forget. But Rajai Davis came to my mind right away with Dirks coming back and JD performing the way he has. I was thinking maybe Rajai for some Bull Pen help.

I'm sure it will come back to Muzz what the team was.....I read an article in the Detroit paper where one reporter talking off the wall said they should trade JD because he's worth so much right now.....I don't like that.....I think Kelly will go he is losing a lot of time not playing in the outfield anymore and Romine can play third base second base shortstop....

no way you can trade JD. Not with Torii in his walk year. he is under team control until 2018.

congrats to Jake Thompson on getting the win in the futures game yesterday. faced 2 batters striking both out. One was his fellow Tiger Steven Moya on 3 pitches. Unfortunately I did miss it as i was in Toledo for a Mudhens game.

I wouldn't use him after the sixth. Yes, the bullpen is awful. But so is JV by that time in the game.(He's simply getting it over the plate by the sixth typically. Can't get anything by guys. A la Ricky P of years past.) He hasn't shown the ability to pitch late into close games this year. Call it Monday morning Quarterbacking if you want, but its been my opinion for several months now that Brad lets him go too long. Hadnt cost the Tigers a game...... until yesterday.

So just looking at JD Martinez and his AB total. Probably has to get around 4 and a half plate appearances a game. would be leading in BA and OPS.

Come on now man... seriously... I was a huge fan of the trade that brought in Fister when it happened and anyone that was on CBS back then knows that. I was leading the charge telling people he was better than Ubaldo. I am a Fister fan. But his ERA in Seattle was never as good as it was in Det... Fister became a much better pitcher in Det for whatever reason. He was good in Seattle.. Great in Det. Trading him was a gamble... and I also am known to always tell people to let DD work. The guy rarely screws the pooch and I am sure that many of you guys thought he was making a bad trade with the Granderson for Scherzer/AJAX/Coke masterpiece that has allowed him to get the tigers where they are today. I was wrong on the pen... Putkonen blew out his elbow and Reed decided to pump on some old dame and catch a case... Nathan is crap so far.. but the rest of the guys look fine... and I did say that the tigers had some young guys that would come up and surprise... and just that has happened... so really... I wasnt to far off... You guys crack me up... I don't know what the heck happened around here.. but I never had an issue with any of you... I like to discuss things about the team and may have differing opinions... but not getting why all you guys are acting like I am Iffy or something and log on just to mess with you guys... I come here to debate the team and may not always have the same opinion or view... but damn...

Fister was great in seattle as well. His ERA was very impressive, not his fault he didnt get any run support. Tbh I was torn on the granderson trade. I didnt have a problem with it because I knew how good max could be, but at the same time granderson was putting up some ridiculous numbers. The only thing that sold it for me was how poorly he did against lefties. I dont think you are iffy by any stretch of the imagination but as gandy said you dont usually admit when you are wrong so this is good to see that you can.

The link to the article is below. Yeah, Miggy not only talked about he himself not being fully recovered from surgery, but that JV isn't either. Interesting, because JV has never admitted as much.
