Dirks back in action today down on the farm. So twenty days from now a move must be made. (Within twenty anyway) That means one month between then and roster expansion on Sept 1st. Not sure what will happen. Kelly seems likely for DFA. But who else can man third if Nicky C goes down? What good does Romine do? It'll be interesting to see what happens.

for sure when Dirks gets back there's going to be plenty of competition in the outfield....not so much in the infield with just Romine and Kelly to backup....They are going to have to rethink the bench.....

They could put Romine or Kelly on DL stint til roster expansion. Thinking outside the your nest there Smitty.

Anybody getting a false sense of security from Nathan and Coke? Both have been steady last ten appearances.

I spoke of this earlier. Glad of the struggles from the pen during the 9-20 stretc. I know and we know the BP needs help. Just hope it does not sway DD from different plans from about a month ago. Not saying him not getting a RP, just not getting or going after the right ones.

Krol came back over the weekend. He sucked against Tampa, then pitched an inning against LA with a strikeout.

Jackson's having a nice night tonight. Need to get a couple more runs here before Duffy leaves. I like KCs pen a lot more than ours. Nicky C, taking one for the team. Drive him in boys! (Shit, Duffys done.)

He's never played short for Detroit. But he did for the Pirates. He came up a shortstop. (Obviously Im biased. But worst case if Romine were sent, Kelly plays short if Suarez gets hurt and a roster move is made the following day. Don't see Romine staying around being worth the loss of your backup third baseman, defensive reserve outfielder, back up first baseman, and lefty bat off the bench. But like I said, Im biased.)
