Hopefully once game planning starts it will help. Vic has said he like to put players in tough situations. I hope that is part of the struggles we have seen.

As a player when you are failing it pisses you off and you find that next gear you thought you would never find. I think we are fine . We better fix the problem with the Running game or it will be a loooooooooooooooooong season . Our OL is doing something and the DL knows were the ball is going .

It is rather glaring - how poorly they have played. If inches kill Fangio - he ought to be very upset about the prospect of losing 20 yards a possession on special teams.

Lock has a bad thumb sprain, which is good news/bad news. The good news is as reported last night it was negative on a break.. The bad news is he probably will be out week 1 which means Kevin Hogan probably starts the season as our backup and on the roster, and probably means someone else we were gona keep now gets cut because we were probably going with 2 QB's before Lock's injury.

Fant has a mild ankle sprain. So that is good news.

Signed TE Orson Charles today. Player I have liked since his HS recruiting. Guy I think can give our tight ends some solid competition for one of those final spots. I feel like Butt isn’t gonna make the cut this year.

They also waived/injured LB Aaron Wallace along with placing tight end Bug Howard and cornerback Horace Richardson on injured reserve. Not sure about that. Horace has a back injury that doesn't appear serious. Horace may opt to reach an injury settlement when healthy and go to another team... It isn't totally up to Denver. He has options once he is medically cleared. We know he can't play for Denver this year... Appears to me his injury is not season ending. You can't cut a player when he is hurt and not medically cleared, so he will likely be cut after he is cleared. He could also opt to be paid by Denver for the entire season and stay on IR for the year, but if he does that his season is over. But the good thing for him if he opts for that route is guaranteed to be paid for the entire season were if he reaches an injury settlement once cleared he can sign with another team but his contract is not guaranteed. I will be surprised if he is on IR all year and not released with an injury settlement once cleared Bug Howard surely won't sit on our IR all year. My understanding is that Richardson has a back injury that was going to keep him out a few weeks thus not likely to make the roster as he was on the bubble. So he should be healthy in a few weeks and able to sign with another team. He is still PS eligible, but he can not be re-signed by us this season since he was placed on IR by us.

I was wrong on something I posted earlier. I found a way Theo Riddick could still go to IR designated to return. Even though it happened during the PS if we keep him on our roster after 53 man cut we can then place him on IR to return later.

Apparently, placing Drew Lock on IR to return later is a very good possibility right now. They need to see how serious the injury is but the Broncos thought a sprain to the throwing thumb could linger on and it may make more sense to save a roster spot by placing him on IR designated to return. We would have to cut down to 53 then place him on the list though. You cannot place a player on IR designated to return in PS, only after roster cut are made, so there is that one loop hole around placing a guy on IR to return who is injured in PS.

Remember before you had to list the guy as your "TO RETURN LATER" guy, now you can choose anyone that goes on IR to return later (after 53 man cutdown) without announcing that they are your guy to return later distinction. This rule changed last year. So Lock and Riddick or anyone else for that matter is eligible as long as you wait until they are initially on the 53 man roster and then you can place them on IR and sign a player to take their roster spot then chose for them to return in week 9.

Orson Charles also has played some fullback so he could fill in with FB sets until Jano gets back if he shows enough to make the team. Very versatile player.

I don't know remember seeing here but Fangio said that the starters are done playing in the preseason. I don't know that I like this decision, particularly on offense, but I understand why the decision was made. I think we will be good on defense and the extra reps are just a risk. On offense however it seems that the oline needs more time to gel, and the offense has not exactly moved the ball up and down the field. Those game reps could be valuable. I guess we will have to check back about half way through the season to see if those reps hurt or not.

Yes you have to be on the 53 then go on IR to return. It’s 6 weeks then. 2 week grace period to make a decision

Lock can’t do anything but watch listen and play VR for a while
