Apparently, I may have misspoke earlier in this thread. It seems as if Brady will have to turn over the cell phone records the NFL wants when he appeals(I thought it was just if they bring it to court). That's why Kraft and co went of the offensive with their BS before the appeal was made. They know its about to hit the fan and were trying to get out in front of it to mitigate the damage. Didn't work...

Spot on LTRF. When you have been cheating on a corporate level for as long as the Patriots have sooner rather than later, the house of cards are going to crumble. There are others and the same will apply just as it did in New Orleans and now in Foxboro.

You know what NFL fans are saying about the Patriots, Brady, Kraft and Bellacheat? It is the same as A-Rod, Bonds and McGuire. Records are there but cheaters they always be.

For me cheating taints everything. It calls everything in to question. When did you start? What all have you done? And its not just Brady. He is catching all the crap right now (and rightfully so) but its the whole organization. The American public will forgive their sports heroes almost anything. With the exception of cheating. Ask Rose, Shoeless Joe, or Armstrong. And it will never ever go away.

The denial that the Patriots are exhibiting as well as the fans who vehemently support them by stating that the cheating has never happened or denying its occurrence by covering things up are exhibiting the classic symptoms of an obsessive desire to have something so pure and untainted as well as successful to obliterate a less-than reality.

This fantasy-based perception is founded in a literal denial that cannot allow their minds to grasp the reality that everyone involved is chasing a corporate-produced mirage. The fantasy becomes so real that when it doesn't occur by natural means along the journey, it is fabricated to fill in the holes and then the group delusional belief supports the fabrication to keep it all together thus making it real.

By using denial in a corporate fashion, everyone can keep the idol and its worship alive and thus elevate everyone above the miserable reality that is experienced on a daily basis both personally and corporately.

What a bunch of babies.

Their post-punishment actions make the rest of teams in the league look classy in their reactions to their punishments over the years.

Once classless always classless. :L The Patriots continue and will continue the feel the rules are for 31 teams not 32. The Commish will oversee Brady and his appeal, wow, two more jokes.:nono: The more they fight this the worse it will get. Good, couldn't happen to a better organization.:mad2:

Nice link Shop. I believe there is more. Things held back if you will. The smoking gun. Kraft dropped his appeal awfully fast.

Well, the old adage that cheaters never prosper isn't true, so as long as there is something to be gained by cheating, the cheaters will continue to do it and then fight against their punishment if they do get caught.

And Retro, you are right. Either Kraft is the dumbest owner and has no clue what is going on with his team or he is in just as deep as Belicheat and Tom Shady.

Also, if he was an owner with integrity, he would've rid himself of Belicheat after spygate, not continue to not only surround himself with him, but defend him. He, as an owner, is doing nothing to change the culture of his own team. That alone speaks volumes.

The hypothesis is ALR, that if the Patriots organization allows or cultivates a culture of dishonesty with the NFL world outside the team, the people inside the organization (Not just the players and coaches but all in the organization, including the fans who buy the Pat's gear and sech) who are uncomfortable with dishonesty will seek to leave, and they will remain uncomfortable and stressed until they do.

Conversely, the people who are comfortable with the dishonesty will stay. Eventually the organization will be full of people who are comfortable with cheating—and who will cheat the organization & their fans.

The problem with this is if there’s one thing that people are really good at, it’s rationalization, especially when trying to avoid a painful (or costly) truth like many loyal fans in the North East.

But here's the deal, in extreme cases like this unethical behavior becomes so blatant that it’s impossible to sweep under the rug the problem lies even those these behaviors are clearly unethical to an outside observer they can be relatively easy to justify to someone whose job depends on just such a justification.

That becomes even more true for people who, despite good intentions, become incrementally more complicit in the unethical behavior, like the Deflator.

Even if the fans who are not actively engaged in unethical acts themselves, seeing others make ethically questionable decisions and failing to say against the team they support can trigger people to justify the behaviors.

This argument goes beyond the cost of being caught cheating because people don’t expect to be found out.

Especially at the highest levels of power, like Brady, Belichick or Kraft, these type of people feel that they’re bulletproof.

So instead a case can be aimed at their self-interest....

“It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary <and/or legacy> depends on his not understanding it.” ~ Upton Sincliar

Any Patriot/Brady legacy of the Bellicick era is shot. Anytime it is brought up the word cheater/cheaters will follow at some point, from here on out. No matter the outcome of Brady s appeal. That is what really has NE fandoms panties in a wad. Because the reality has sunk in.

Yep Ozark. That was the discussion yesterday here in Phoenix on a sports-talk radio. They join the likes of Pete Rose, all the baseball players who took roids and lied about it like A-Rod and Mark McGuire, and of course the many "stars" of boxing. So, I hope they all got some benefit from that cheating because the decision is in, in the court of public opinion.
