Is anyone interested on bringing in Bobby Wagner?

I think he still has a couple years left in those legs. A nice vet replacement for Hightower.

Yes. he is long in the tooth but IMO still has game. BB has done this before grab a seasoned vet at the tail end of a career and get a year or two out him. But again he is long in the tooth so the price must be right.

Saw a thing that the Patriots have contacted PK Succop. He was released by the Bucs yesterday.

Can he kick in temps below 65??

Pats sign Left footed P Corliss Waitman. A lefty no surprise.

Does BB still look for one in the draft or UDFA?

Is everyone happy going into this season with Waitman as our punter?

Punts will happen during the season.
We have a punter.

Hopefully we can get a really good one between now and when we really need one.

For the right price, sure, let him come in this summer and earn a right to play in the fall.

Wouldn't it be better to design an offense that doesn't need to punt. For that matter, why not an offense that doesn't need field goals or extra point kicks when 2 points is always better than 1.... And while we're at it, build a defense that won't make the offense need 3 measly points.

Punters and kickers are more important than people think. The last punter we had, after Bailey was injured -can’t remember his name- was absolutely putrid.

Care to expound?
I am very rarely interested in a player at the end of his career.
One exception would be if we are aiming to win a SB.
I like the direction we are headed right now but I don't see a Superbowl appearance in 2023 reallistically.

Well we'd have to add pieces to be a SB contender.

BB has made a living of finding vets close to retirement and getting the most out of them.

Wags is a great leader. He was one of the few Seahawk players I actually liked. He should be fairly cheap? At this point I'd prefer him over having to draft a LB.

Wagner signed a one year, $7M with his old team the Seahawks.

Now I know how much it would've cost. I still would've taken him for that price.

Some general info:

Tuesday 3/28 - BB left the owners meetings and flew to Univ. of Maryland. After the Pro-Day he spent more than a half hour talking with PK Chad Ryland. After the meeting, Ryland would not discuss anything with the media. BB apparently taught him how to say "No Comment" perfectly.

Rumores immediately started that BB will select Ryland in the upcoming draft.

Wednesday 3/29 - BB was seen at LSU. Names to watch for that could be Patriot Targets. OT/OG Anthony Bradford, he started 12 of 13 games this season, mostly at right guard. A versatile lineman, he also started one game at the left and right tackle spots. CB Jarrick Bernard-Converse, after starting four years at Oklahoma State, and he became a starter in nine games this season at LSU. Most of that was at corner with a few opportunities at safety, and he finished with 44 tackles, two interceptions and five pass deflections. DB Jay Ward, made 46 appearances with 23 starts during his four years at LSU. He began the 2022 season as a starter at safety before moving to the nickel position. He finishes his time with the Tigers with 164 total tackles (3.5 for loss), six interceptions, 23 pass deflections and two forced fumbles.

Thursday 3/30 - No one is sure, but most likely BB will be at the Univ. of Tennessee today and at Tennessee-Chatanooga tomorrow.
More than likely, BB will not be back to Foxboro until April 7th. If he follows his normal routine, he will spend 3/31-4/6 with Nick Saban. The Alabama Pro-Day will be BB's last on April 6th.

IMO, Bradford might be a 2nd Round pick unless all of the media hyped guys get snatched early in Round 1.
Converse and Ward might slide into the late 2nd or 3rd Rounds.

Ryland will be closely watched by teams needing a kicker. TB released Succop and several teams need to upgrades. Makes one wonder if BB talking to Ryland for so long is a ploy to deflect attention away from someone that he really wants in the 6th Round.
