Sounds like Payton and Malone in 2003-2004West has made his money. Now he wants a ring. Sounds a lot like Aldridge.

Yeah, I wouldn't say destroy either. But, if memory serves, the only team that beat GSW 3 times last year was the Spurs. That was before they added Aldridge and West.
I think the Spurs won two of the three games against the Warriors.
That would be a huge violation of the CBA. Wolves did that with Joe Smith back in 2000. When they got caught they were fined $4 million, lost 5 draft picks, Owner and GM suspended, Smith's contract was voided and his Bird rights were stripped.
It will be interesting to see how the NBA responds if West signs a big contract next season when Duncan retires. As long as their is nothing in writing and no informant.... they can just claim there was no pre-arrangement and they want to get him closer to market value now that they have flexibility.
I think their roster is/was 3rd oldest in the league, behind Cleveland and Dallas...Whats the age of their starting 5?
It's very admirable of him. There were reports that he was also interested in the Warriors. I wonder how much interest the Warriors showed back. Regardless, it's pretty safe to assume that West believes the Spurs are better than the Warriors and he definitely isn't alone in that opinion. Next season is shaping up to be very interesting. Must see TV.
Duncan: 39 (will be 40 when the playoffs start)
Aldridge: 30
Leonard: 24
Green : 28
Parker: 33
Outside of Duncan, that's respectable. And even then, Duncan doesn't play like his age.

Pretty much this. Parker had a bad postseason this past year and that was because he was injured for the majority of the first round. I know Paul was hurt too, but injuries seem to effect Parker more than they do Paul, for some reason. Can't remember last time Paul was out for more than 2 weeks, lol.Duncan: 39 (will be 40 when the playoffs start)

No, not really. They have Mills as well. Green is only 28, Duncan still plays like he's 30 even though he's 39, Manu can be reliable in big games and he's 38 I believe. Age does not matter, especially on a team like the Spurs. It's all about how you play. When is the last time you saw the Spurs play and HONESTLY thought "Wow, they look exhausted and they've had 1 day off."? Or something similar? Point is, they don't play like their age. That's a great thing for them, and a scary thing for the rest of the league. So they are an old team...thanx!
