wow, so he turns down 10+million for league minimum to play with Spurs?

guess he really wants to win; plus, maybe he was told he'll get a good contract next year?

It's very admirable of him. There were reports that he was also interested in the Warriors. I wonder how much interest the Warriors showed back. Regardless, it's pretty safe to assume that West believes the Spurs are better than the Warriors and he definitely isn't alone in that opinion. Next season is shaping up to be very interesting. Must see TV.

West has made his money. Now he wants a ring. Sounds a lot like Aldridge.

Can we just skip to conference finals already? Spurs are insanely loaded. They would DESTROY the defending champs, GSW.

I wouldn't say "destroy", but they do have the advantage; particularly when it comes to length in the front court.

Since GSW was comfortable and more effective playing small, I guess that's what they will be doing most of the time and that won't just be effective against the Spurs.

True. However - "on paper" & reality can often be very different & we also don't know if injuries will be a factor. If this goes as expected the Western Conference Finals could be some of the best TV viewing ever.

Yeah, I wouldn't say destroy either. But, if memory serves, the only team that beat GSW 3 times last year was the Spurs. That was before they added Aldridge and West.

Duncan and Manu are old. Duncan usually stays injury free, Manu not so much. Where are the rest of the old guys you speak of?

That would be a huge violation of the CBA. Wolves did that with Joe Smith back in 2000. When they got caught they were fined $4 million, lost 5 draft picks, Owner and GM suspended, Smith's contract was voided and his Bird rights were stripped.

It will be interesting to see how the NBA responds if West signs a big contract next season when Duncan retires. As long as their is nothing in writing and no informant.... they can just claim there was no pre-arrangement and they want to get him closer to market value now that they have flexibility.

I think their roster is/was 3rd oldest in the league, behind Cleveland and Dallas...Whats the age of their starting 5?
