Glad Soto is catching. Throwing a breaking ball to Nunez who could not hit a fastball this series in the 9th was just an unbelievable call.

Problem is the team changed, but Washington did not change the way he managed. We still try to win by hitting home runs, but we have no home run hitters. This team should be pitching and defense ,but it is not. We do a poor job of moving runners, hitting sacrifice flys, and playing for extra runs when we get a chance. That is a mindset that comes from mngt. And Washington is unable , or unwilling, to get them to play that way, so they continue to flail away and often come up short. Defense is shoddy and is never addressed as such. Errors are simply plays we expect to make but don't and are coming more often. Change is needed in our approach to the game, but I can't see it coming.

And guess what. We gave away an out and now we're in worse shape than if you'd just let Profar hit.

I know this was said last night - but its since been revealed that the bunt was Profar's doing. Not Wash's....

And if Cruz could have simply lifted a fly ball to the outfield, we're up 1-0. Instead he grounds weakly to the pitcher on the first pitch. Talk about giving away an out. The bunt should be a part of this teams offense,. Maybe not that early , but when it sits up a scoring opportunity, the Rangers need to learn to take it and get the run home. A lead of any size makes it easier to pitch.

There is plenty of blame to go around for the way the Rangers are playing, and a lot of it is Washington's fault. After all he IS the manager and is responsible for who plays and who doesn't. When you have less talent than previous years ,you can make fewer bone head moves.

Sure hope that Garza gets a strong start and the Rangers give him some decent run support. Also hope that Wash resists the urge to run Nathan out in the 9th inning tonight for any sort of save situation. Tomorrow great but tonight, forget it.

Rangers are out of games they can afford to let slip away. Only 62 games left and 3.5 games behind, let last night be the last head scratching loss for a long while.
