It's like we've never played a close game before. Down by 1, and nobody went for a steal, and went back to half court. Nobody even went for the fucking foul. Unbelievable. Dirk just flat out can't be counted on anymore in crunch time.

You just can't miss that lay-up Monta.

Get down by 20 then just not enough trying to come back, the Blair stupid kick didn't help after he was the catalyst for the comeback

Didn't expect much out of this series, Mavs had already won 1 more game than i thought they would in this one. If they had happened to steal another game here it would have been huge but going back to SA i don't expect much.

I was just about to say that, and I said it at the time. That's the kind of play that kills momentum and turns the game around. he was playing so well too.

Dirk missed 2 huge shots that would have put some space between us. A little half hook form 4 ft, and a wide open 8 footer.

I feel like our chances just went down the drain. San Antonio had never won a game 4 after being down 2-1 in a series. I believe that's what I heard today.

Maybe that's incorrect. Trying to find it.

Heard the same thing

Think they said they had never won a game 4 after losing game 3, think that meant it could've been 2-1 or 1-2

thought maybe it was they hadn't won a game 5 after being down 3-1, so that was a must win, but anyway you look at it now its the Mavs backs against the wall

To me, pressure's still on the Spurs, Mavs have nothing to lose

They're not even playing good ball and hanging in there with the #1 seed

Thats a better way to look at it, would love to see the Mavs take it to a 7th game and possibly steal one

Dejuan Blair has been suspended for Game 5. This is why I don't put as much emotional involvement into the NBA as I do with MLB and NHL. The NBA is corrupt and hands down suspensions and fines arbitrarily at the drop of a hat. I watched the play in question with Blair as it happened and the multiple reviews afterward. It wasn't even worthy of an ejection, much less a suspension. Splitter landed on Blair's foot. Blair yanked his foot out from under Splitter then swung his leg around in the air, grazing Splitter's head with his foot. While he might have intentionally made contact with Splitter's head, it certainly wasn't some violent kick or stomp motion. Splitter barely even reacted. The ejection was more than enough for such a harmless play. But no, the NBA once again has to interject and suspend a player and affect the outcome of a series. It's corrupt beyond all measure.

Complete and total BS, the ejection was even too much

I am pretty damn close to giving up on the NBA forever. This last week has disgusted me beyond reconciliation. What a horribly run league.

It really is pretty ridiculous how transparent the corruption is.

When Magic Johnson owns the Clippers in a couple of months we will really see how much they care about fairness....

Exactly. While I find Donald Sterling's comments out-of-touch with today's society and I disagree with his views, I find it hilarious that the NBA thinks it can fine him $2.5 Million for comments he made in the privacy of his own home. Why does he owe the NBA anything? Jay-Z was a minority shareholder in the Nets and his lyrics are chock-full of misogynist and racist verbiage. I don't recall him ever receiving a fine. Where was the uproar then? Mark Jackson, that sanctimonious prick, was busted for an extortion scandal with his stripper mistress and is widely known to have homophobic views, yet he had the audacity to call for Clippers fans to boycott playoff games (transparent to say the least). And now Floyd Mayweather Jr., who famously made numerous racist remarks about Manny Pacquiao, is forming a group to purchase the Clippers.

So the lesson here is that it's perfectly fine for an NBA owner, player, or coach to make public remarks which disparage women, gays, or any other race besides black people, but it's a permanent ban-level sin to utter negative feelings toward black people in the privacy of one's own home.

I love the Mavs and will always cheer for them, but the NBA is a total joke. It really is.

They're just going after an old, out of touch, white guy..... If a black man was on that tape saying those things about white people. Nobody would've cared.

Jim Irsay was arrested for a DUI. He actually endangered people's lives while behind the wheel of his vehicle. The NFL has yet to officially rebuke him, let alone discipline him. Where were the athletes rallying to have him banned from the NFL for putting people's lives at risk?

NBA players call each other racist names daily on the court...will they face lifetime bans? I highly doubt they will. Sterling is a jackass, but he's no worse than any other villian out there, and this false outrage just wears me the hell out.
