ok. :susp:
We will have to just leave it off here.
But one thing. I would take Dak over Love all day every day! LOL

Like I said earlier. I get the argument many of you have about the money.
I just dont see changing your QB every 4 or 5 years is a good plan either. Especially when you have a top ten QB.
If you improve a defense, but go from a top ten QB to a bottom ten QB. Think we end up in the same spot. If we have lightning in a bottle with a draft pick. Great, but short of that. Bad idea. But again. At least I get that argument.
Fair enough Bro. Let me ask you one thing about your comment above.. You said you would take Dak over Love all day. And you added an LOL.
Love is 5 years younger than Dak. His cap hit is $40M less than Dak's this year. And he destroyed the Cowboys defense in the playoffs in Arlington while Dak, by any metric, played poorly against the Packers D. So....You sure about that?

Well you replied to the rankings. So I assume the contracts isnt apart of you saying he was better.
As far as age. These are QBs, they play easily into their late 30's nowadays. Cousins just got 180 mil & he is what 35 or 36?
Dak will easily play out whatever his next contract is for whatever team. Barring a career ending injury where his age wouldnt matter. End of his next contract he will be what. Around 34? Then I could see your point about age. Dak is playing better football now than when he was 24. Seeing the field making decisions. He has a 4 to 1 ratio of TDs to INTs. Those are Aaron Rodgers type play. So again right now. I dont see the age argument. These arent RBs where once they hit 30 they fall off a cliff.
Yes Love & his team out played Dak & his team on all facets. (including coaching) I give him that. But like I have been trying to say. One game doesnt make the player. I get the whole what have you done for me lately vibe. But because of the last game you forget Dak was very close to being the MVP of the league last year, meanwhile Love played well for about a half a season. Granted it was the last half of the season, but still when measuring where you would rank people. I dont look at one game. If someone beats the Chiefs & Mahomes. I dont instantly think, that QB is better than Mahomes. Even if Mahomes had a bad game.
If Love carries on to have Dak like career up to when he is 30. I will have to admit I was wrong about him, & he would have had a successful career.
But right now Love has been good for about 8 games. & this next year often times is the one where we see if he regresses or says look at me bitches. I see him being Mid right now. But I could be wrong. But from information we have right now. He isnt close to Dak right now. I know we all have a sour taste in our mouths right now because our last game was horrific, but again. This is a new season.
I do agree that all the top QBs right now are in the AFC though.

Strong arm and athletic. If our Oline shapes up the way we think it could then our O could be very different than last years.
They got to get back to running the ball well if they intend on letting Dak walk.. they got off to a good start in the draft. That big guard they got late is going to be a steal...Beebe is like a bull in a china closet. I am though most concerned about LT. Not a lot of tape to be found on him. I get it. The long arms, size. Hope he kicks ass

When it comes to a comparison, I think you always have to include contract details. I see Dak as 31, less athletic than he used to be, and about to be the highest paid player in the NFL. Because of that contract, he will never have a better supporting cast than he had on his first two contracts. The strip down began this year, losing Pollard, who is clearly better than any RB on the team, and Tyron, who was, at worst, the 2nd or 3rd best LT in football last year. Dak has never had playoff success. I just can't see it for him, realistically, in the future.
You do make a lot of really good points and im not saying you're wrong. I put more stock in Love because he played so well in a playoff game. I understand that he didn't have the same game against the Niners, but a lot of QB's can say that.

Beebe will kill it. The big question marks on the team without a doubt are LT and RB. Guyton is a crapshoot, no one will know till he gets out there if he can hold down LT or if he is a year or two away from from handling the toughest position on the OL. RB is hoping for Zeke finding the fountain of youth for a year or an unproven player busting out. That's a lot of hoping

well the Niners can make all QBs look bad. To me they are by far the best Defense in the league.
I hope our OL gels fast this year & we hit homers on those draft picks.
But maybe more importantly. I hope our DL comes together this year. When we cant stop the run, will make all other Qbs look good. Packers had 3 rushing TDs & plenty of yards.
I feel like I am opposite of Jerry when looking at D. He likes his shiney toys. DBs, Edge rushers ensech. I want stout DTs & an all pro MLB. That would give consistency & a strong foundation to build a great Defense. To me the most important thing for us this year. Work on Run D. Not sexy & dont give a lot of stats to star players, but the key IMHO. Instead of Qbs getting to pick & choose when to make plays because they can run. Force them to take chances to keep chains moving. Suddenly other QBs wont be looking so good.
Start with trenches on both sides of ball & on defense focus on the middle of the D. That is what I would try & work on if I had any say for the team.

I couldn't possibly agree with you more about how to build the defense. I'm hoping that Zim can change the defense into a stouter team against the run, but Jerry has left him a serious hole IMO. I think getting Diggs back is great, and I think Overshown could be a star. But I have no idea how you trust what we have at 1Tech/Nose Tackle. Basically just handing Mazi the job. I'm hoping Will McClay hit it out of the park this year and that we hit on 4-5 players in this draft. If we can, then you will prove right about paying Dak, because we will be fine. But on paper(doesn't mean it will be so), we have a very talented squad, but possibly the worst RB room in the NFL, the worst starting LT(today) and worst starting NT in the NFL. We need a lot of guys to step up

didnt we draft a couple DTs this year? or is Kneeland just an edge guy?

When did I say I was never wrong? I have an opinion different than yours. You're the one making it personal dick...
And just for the record Dumbass....the pick youre talking about made him 1-4 for zero yards and a pick. The PICK SIX that ended the game made it 27-0...at least try knowing what youre talking about

If our OL is better than average (and I think they will be much better than average) I expect Dak to be one of the best QBs in the NFC in the regular season again and IMO he was the best QB in the NFC last year in the regular season. I think even without a good RB this team will put up a lot of points because as much as I like Pollard he wasn't very good post injury until the last third of the season last year (and then I think he was very good but opinions were already formed). Martin and Smith will be very good to elite, Steele should be much better a year removed from the injury and with a healthy offseason and between the two early draft picks and the two returning players and Tyler's position flex I think we will piece together the rest somewhere between good enough and surprisingly dominant. We have a top 3 WR in the league and an emerging TE who should again be top 10 or better and Cooks and a few young TEs and young WRs to fill out the rest of the targets adequately and maybe another WR will be added to the mix at some point. I don't think the running game will be too much worse than last year although I have little faith in Zeke being a clear #1 and didn't see anything from Deuce to think he will be more than a gadget guy or game day scratch because those backup RBs need to run down on kickoff and punt coverage. I think Dowdle will be the best RB on the team by year end and surprise people and I think Davis and/or Freeman could play a role.

If our two All Pro CBs are healthy and if Kendrick is even a little below average we should have a top 10 defense at worst. I don't see any way the defense isn't better than what it was in the playoff game assuming we do the simplest thing which is play 3 LBs on early downs and don't play 2 strong safeties with coverage issues in the nickel. This defense last year was over the top dominant for many games and has plenty of talent which makes a lot of the recent comments interesting from the same fans that were saying for a good part of the year how our defense will carry us and how great it was to have a defense like this again. I love Quinn but he shit the bed with his alignments and he is the biggest reason we were run all over down the stretch and he refused to make changes. There was a comment from one of the players talking about how if you screw up Quinn tries to work you through it while Zimmer just sits you on the bench and we needed some of these players sat down in certain situations and it was obvious all year long and never happened. We had the players to be much better against the run than we were. I am also confident we can get a fat guy to clog the middle sometime between today and the trade deadline to replace Hankins if we need one and I think we need one. Will we have the #5 defense in the league again (no that isn't a misprint) I'm not sure, but we will IMO be top 10 at worst. We have the single most dominant non-QB in the league in Parsons who was doubled and tripled more than any player in the league and still led the league in QB pressures, a top 3 DE against the run in Lawrence, 2 recent All Pro CBs and a slew of young guys that hopefully will step up. We will still be very fast and hopefully more stout just due to a philosophy change on defense. I think the combo of Sam Williams on passing downs and Kneeland on running downs will provide needed depth at the edge and I hope we stop playing DEs like Golston and Fehoko (if he makes the team) at DT. That was just another reason we stunk against the run and again was coaching not personnel - Golston is a pretty good DE against the run, but he is a horrible DT against the run. DTs need to be bigger on early downs when you don't have elite LBers. We absolutely need a good pass rusher to help Micah and while I think this team will be active at the trade deadline this year I'm not sure we have that right now, but every year there are pass rushers available for trade and as long as we sign CeeDee we will have the cap space to bring in a high $ player or 2. Another pass rusher could make or break our season IMO.

Playoffs: I don't think those 3 underlined qualifiers (and the most important qualifier which is health) are too much to ask for and one could say all 3 should happen. That is why this is to me a playoff team. From there we will see if it is just the same old same old or not. The playoff coaching needs to be much, much better than last year and all other recent years on both sides of the ball. It was embarrassing by how much both McCarthy and Quinn were outcoached again. Getting back to the broken record of Dak's contract and Dak being back, he earns it or doesn't starting in January not September. I would love nothing better to give him a 5 year $60M per deal if this team gets to the NFC Championship game but recent history tells me they won't and you can't keep running out the same team and failing over and over and when changes need to be made the obvious place is the most expensive guy at the most important position. That's not all his fault of course but you can't replace 22 starters and in a cap world and with his contract being up, he is the obvious way to reset the roster. Also with another playoff failure McCarthy might not even get a seat on the flight home and is obviously gone. The Jones Boyz of course are here for the long run regardless of how detrimental that is to this team's success. I will also state again, I think if this team is in the mix we will have a splash trade deadline signing and I think that can make a big difference.

You called the first name and the second. Then you corrected me about the pick 6 and you had the score 7-0 instead of 27-0. The name fit

Well, I would not rule out the Rangers. I am happy about the Phillies, but you know it is all about the playoffs. Astro's are hot now too.

The best point out of that novel(lol) is that Dak has to earn that salary in the playoffs. 1000% nail on the head to me. $55-60M should equal winning first round home games for any QB IMO

I am going to block off my morning to read this.
