Fair enough. I guess between that, Cousin's, and Foles' contract it puts Dak around there. You'd figure Cousin's tanking at the end of last season might lower that value some. Also, seems like that might make it tough to sign anyone else. Might be best to give him one more year to prove himself and then tag him if you can't reach a deal.

There is merit in waiting until 2020, but the price most likely goes up. It's not my money, but as a fan I won't be happy if he signs for the numbers reported here, as it hurts the ability to improve other areas of the team.

If a player is willing to play for substantially less than market value, that's not scamming the system.

Nah, it is straight up stupid though. Unless they can recoup it other ways in endorsement deals or something. Who in their right mind would give any kind of discount in a sport a league as brutal as the NFL?

I can agree, but in Bradys case his wife is filthy rich, and he's had a few good endorsement deals.

He ain't hurting for money.

Awhile back Dak said he understands others need to be signed, but he won't take a Brady discount contract. I took that as he'd agree to a lower end of recent contracts. This 27 to 30 Mil report goes against that thought.

after seeing how contracts were going the last year or so. I was scared that he would end up with a 30+ mil a year. contract. I figure he is worth (using QB eyes) 25+
So knowing all QBs not named Brady are gonna be overpaid on contracts. I am cool with 27-30. More than I want but less than I expected. (would rather it be closer to the 27-28 mark)

False

Brady takes less money so they can consistently bring in free agents that Brady needs to succeed. You aren't very knowledgeable.

I know that but there’s always been rumors the are paying him under the table. Who knows but if any team would do it it would be them

The contract should be similar in structure to the deals Kaepernick, Bortles, Tannehill, and Dalton signed. Dak hasn't shown he's any better of a player than those guys were when they got their money.
If any agent ever allows a player to sign a contract like Kaepernicks. They should be flogged & then immediately fired!

That is probably the worst structured contract for a QB ever!

You mean giving a s**tty QB who can't read a defense exponentially more money than the veteran-minimum he's actually worth? I'd say that was a win.

that was stupid on the niners part.
but they were smart how they structured it.
The Agent was on full retard mode for allowing such a contract. he could have gotten his client big money where he actually got a ton of it. Even after sucking.

You don't have to take it out on the Niners just because Dallas is about to give a poor man's Kirk Cousins 30 million a year.

Has nothing to do with Cousins as the 9ers gave a lot of money to a guy with very little experience.

As of right now it's safe to say Jimmy played just good enough to sucker the 9ers in.
