I'm torn once you start getting up over $26M or so. I'll go $25M and think about higher than that, but if Dak wants $30M I just can't give it to him right now when I have so many guys to pay. He's got a cheap year left on his rookie contract and then I'll tag him at least once. By that point I understand that QBs will be probably be averaging $5M higher per year than they are now, but I'll know more about what I've got and I'll save money in the interim to pay for it. Dak is a winner and has played some of his best Football late and in tight games and he is a leader on this team, but I'm not going to $30M for a Dak or Wentz or Goff or someone else that isn't top 5 or so when I have the luxury of making them play out their rookie deals and then tag them first. There is no rush. It protects me against injury or a player regressing and I just don't pay these young QBs until I have to as long as the salary cap is in place.
Tag and you lose him. Cousins situation all over. The agent will use the cost of the second tag as a base
