while we are on the subject - is anyone familiar with the NFL IR process?

few of my questions:

Is it realistic to think Meredith, Ware, Edelman get on IR before our deadline?
Is there a deadline set by the league that teams have to designate who's on IR before the season?
Why would a team like the Jets hold a roster spot in real life on Enunwa still for this season if he is having neck surgery?

There's a final deadline for IR designations, isn't there? Right before the regular season starts?

Not that I'm aware of. However Sept 2nd the teams cut down to 53.

This would be the date I believe they would place people on the IR. Not sure about the NFL, but MLB teams wait until the eve of the season to put players on the DL, then back date it.

Which means we may have to hold a player that is injured, while cutting a player we won't have except for the gap. D2 roster deadline August 28, NFL deadline Sept. 2.

No The roster size gets cut down on the 28th, but you have a week to met the cut down. So even though I change the rule tomorrow, it doesn't really start until Sept. 4.

Yea Can't imagine a team having a guy they know is going tho be on IR, bit doing it on or before the 53 cut down date.

Some rules to go over before we start:

The off season Taxi Squad is getting ready to go away. I will lower the player limit to 20 tomorrow night Aug. 28 and everybody has until midnight EST Sept. 4 to reach the limit. IR players DO NOT count against your 20, but they have to be put on the IR in real life before you can put them there. If you do not meet the cut in time, you lose your first pick next year. As of the roster size changing, the FA/WW list is locked on an honor system. Once the cut deadline is met, every available player will go to the WW.

To clarify this rule, the cut down period is one week. Just because I change the roster size tomorrow does not mean you have to immediately go cut players. You have one week to do your cuts. So you can do them tomorrow night, or wait until next Monday night, or do them anytime in between.
