And I offered him a player he loves, no less. It wasn't a horrible deal, but I was at least hoping for a counter.

Well i can't say that much. . I'm not sure if i have anyone Milk loves, i offered a handful that most people are high on, and hoped for the best

I sent him a offer, he didn't decline it, but once he said none were close I cancelled it. I thought it was a solid offer considering the suspension and he's one bad deed away from yet another one. I think Milk just feels his best opinion is to take his lumps this year, get a better draft slot next year and Zeke will be back. Then hope that one more bad deed doesn't happen. He'll be in a nice spot next season with Zeke and McCaffery plus a high draft slot.
