My suggestion would be to mirror whatever they decide in our league. I think he should either be in both leagues, or out of both. It does not make sense to be in one and not the other. The same thing took place in both leagues, obviously minus the fireworks in ours.

Correct you can get more players by trading draft picks or doing a two for one deal between now and the draft.

True, but if you look at the WW you'll be hard pressed to find anyone worth picking up any ways.

I have 3 things that I think need to be addressed this off season. I will post them here and everyone is as always welcome to state their opinions. If we need a poll for any of them it will be done right after our draft.

1. We need to welcome our new owner in @bksballer89. He took over Micro's team.

2. Tiebreakers. First off I am going to propose that we add H2H as the first tiebreaker, I don't think it ever came up last year. Second off is Inactives, it is the fourth or fifth thing on the tiebreaker list and most likely will never come into play, but it was also the most talked about area of the league last year. We need to decide what is and what is not an inactive as far as this league goes. Last year I used Fantrax's scoring and at the top of it it would tell you how many players each team used. If you had less then 10 in that you got charged. This led to some discussions in which I was in agreement with the person gripping. But because I had been doing it one way and did not want to change midstream, I continued to do it the same way. I would like to get something in the rules to clarify what is and what is not an inactive. I think we can all agree that someone on the IR, an empty slot, or someone on a bye is an inactive. But after that it is up in the air about someone being out for the week or someone being benched and not playing, but on the active roster.

3 Tanking/Draft order First off no matter what is discussed in this issue or decided the draft order for this year is set and not changing. In D1 we had an owner tanking and it is in the rules as being forbidden. In our league a couple of people asked me about the same person and was he tanking in D2. In D2 there is nothing in the rules about tanking and I believe most if not all of us are against the practice, so we need to discuss adding something to our rules against it. One of the things I thought about and wanted to throw out there to the league was doing a first round lottery like the NBA or NHL does where the ten teams that missed the playoffs all get weighted shots at the top 2 draft picks, to discourage tanking in the future.

Now on to tiebreakers. I think we should either do any inactive player counts against you. Its unlikely to come up and rewards being on top of your lineups at gametime. Im not by any means set on this though. If we didnt count inactives where the player was ruled out at game time Id be cool with that too. I guess what Im saying is - this isnt a big issue to me as long as everybody is trying to fill out a legitimate lineup so Im cool with whatever.

One final thing though. Ive heard of something called conditional lineups (i believe). I both forget how exactly it works and dont know if it would even be possible for us to do but I believe the whole idea is it keeps you from getting screwed by a last minute scratch in most cases. I could try to find wherever I saw that and see if its something we're interested and capable of doing.

Now tanking. I am against a lottery as I feel the worst teams SHOULD get the top picks. I also think tanking should be a bannable offense. If your benching Zeke to play Chris Thompson every week thats some BS. A possible way around this would be to make draft order determined by reverse possible points for non playoff teams. So basically, add up the points you would have had each week if you filled your lineup out as best as possible based on your roster that week. Of course if this cant be calculated online by the site, I dont think its fair to have anybody doing that for us manually so it might not be realistic.

And then finally...whats the ruling on blowing up your roster for picks? Say I trade away AB, Sammy, Jeffery, Blount, and Brees this offseason for picks and put out an awful lineup each week as a result. Is that ok? I personally think it should be as long as I do my best to use waivers and my roster to fill out as good a starting lineup as possible each week and remain an active owner. I think roster tanking is completely rational and a necessary part of a dynasty league. But Im willing to hear what every body else has to say and obviously abide by whatever we decide on.

I really am not a fan of H2H as the first tie breaker. Too much random chance there. The first tie breaker should reflect who the better team is. That must be some season long measure like total points or breakdown. My team should not miss the playoffs because I happen to play yours when my top 2 guys were on bye and you had a couple guys go off.

The reason had to head works in real life is because my team would have a chance to prevent yours from scoring. Can't do that in fantasy.

As for tanking, if you are intentially benching your best guy to improve draft position, you lose the draft pick. Natural consequence there.
