A good add for the Cowboys. I'm sure they looked into DHop, just wondering what that cost would be.

Wow! Houston must have really wanted to get rid of him!

Cooks wanted no part of that team.. the trade makes 100% sense. It's definitely in favor of the Cowboys, but that was expected.

I know he wanted to be dealt at the trade deadline. The dismantling of the team and letting Watson walk he gave up on them.

The two contracts are very similar. The big difference may come in how much of the contract a team has to take on. Texans picked up 1/3 of the $18 million. Players with big contracts generally don’t garner high picks, especially ones who are 30 and are coming off of injuries like DHop.

Read that he has a $26M cap hit. I kinda figure he’s not real interested in renegotiating that and that number just doesn’t work with what the Cowboys have to work through the next couple of months.

My guess is if AZ was serious about moving on than they maybe the asking price might be a tad high.

Gannon needs to just shed a malcontent and swallow 2/3rds of the contact so the Eagles can fit him into their cap. I think back to back years of a 7th and a 6th should get it done.

That's a tough cap number to move. Cowboys made out better with the Cooks trade.

Supposedly deal was in place for a 3rd last year at the deadline and then Hou pushed for a 2nd at the last minute and the Cowboys hung up

Cooks isn't in the same atmosphere as Nuk Hopkins. There's a reason he's on his 5th team before his 30th birthday.

Plus there was no purpose for him in Houston: rebuilding team that didn’t need that cap hit. Cooks is fine for that salary for a team needing a real WR2 option. Compensation was always going to be small, it’s the salary that most teams didn’t want to take on, this and next year

No guaranteed money next year.
