Cowboys to Hire Mike McCarthy as HC

I’m taking a wait & see approach with this one. He said he learned the error of his ways from the last couple years in Green Bay so I’ll trust he’ll keep his word. 9 consecutive playoff appearances, super bowl winner, went to the NFC Championship game three times. Not a resume you can sneeze at.

Would’ve preferred Urban Meyer but I don’t hate this hire at all.

I think his "errors" of his last couple years in GB are overblown and a little misdirected. Coaches just don't get significantly worse all of a sudden. I think he has admitted to his role in some of the problems but I didn't think it had as much to do with him as is portrayed. He won't have an elite QB in Dallas but he sure as Hell won't have an entitled, arrogant baby that undermines him every chance he gets either and I think he'll have a tighter locker room because of it. He is supposed to be good for QBs, If that's true it could be a great hire. If I'm wrong we'll have a few more 8-8 years I guess but I see less risk than if we were to go with one of these College guys or coordinators...maybe less upside of course too...

Bring in Marvin Lewis to appease the Rooney rule & then go hire the HC Jerry had targeted.
