For the Eagles to move up to 5 they'd need to trade their complete 2014 draft and they'd still be about 350 short. They'd probably have to include next years 1st. Watkins won't be an Eagle.

Do you remember what the Skins did to get RG3:wtf:

I don't see Eagles moving up for Watkins unless somehow he moved out of the top 10, and by that time I think they would be fighting many teams bids for that spot to grab him.

I don't see anyway he moves out of the top 10 unless something happens in the next month

That's really my point, he won't drop out of the top 10, so don't see the Eagles making a play for him.

Watkins has zero chance of getting out of the top 7. Dont think he gets out of the top 5, but zero chance of getting out of the top 7.

I'd bet the Eagles take Brandin Cooks and never look back

For a little over $2 million TOTAL and less than half a million guaranteed for 2 years, I'd have liked to have seen the Cowboys get in on Chris Clemons. Great deal for the Texans

Pass. Stop with the stop plugs at safety. He's 32 we tried bringing in old vets the last few seasons.

I don't like this line of thinking. I was reading comments like this from the writers on DC.com and think it's totally incorrect. First off, if we kept Allen and didn't cut him we have a better chance to make the playoffs. Not that Allen was good, but what we were left with played like total shit so we would have been better with him. Second, just because you brought in the wrong guy last time doesn't mean you stop looking. We need to bring in the RIGHT guy whether it be via the draft or FA. We need to improve our player evaluations, not give up on them.

AI agree that cutting Allen was a bad move. He played better than the trash we had on the field after he was gone. I would be surprised to see anyone pick up heath after we cut him

Or we could draft a safety worth a damn. I think we cut him thinking Wilcox will develop, but, he got hurt and that hurt his progress.

Why keep going for 30+ FA safety? How does that help our team?

Absolutely that is always the ideal situation. But are we going to do actually that? Are you comfortable going into the season with Wilcox or Heath? I am not. While I have hopes for Wilcox to develop into a player I am not willing to bet my season on it happening this year. Bring in a cheap veteran to fight for a starting job or at worst be a veteran backup for a unit that is very young. I'm not calling for a top of the line FA. Can even be after the draft if we don't draft a safety.

How does it help our team??? Did you watch what we had at safety last year???? That's how it helps our team.

And we may have cut him THINKING Wilcox would develop, but how did that work out? That was as dumb as going into this season THINKING Wilcox will develop would be. I'm all for letting young kids win a job, but if you don't protect yourself if they don't step up, you deserve the repurcussions. How could you possibly bank on a kid with as few snaps in his life at safety and such little time in the NFL without at least protecting yourself in case he doesn't step up. He may become a 10 year starter, or he may be cut in a year or two and never heard from again. We just don't know yet.

one safety we could live without is Matt Johnson. 2 seasons and we have yet to get 1 regular season game out of him. time to move on & bring in someone like Dion Bailey

This remains my thinking as well. Wilcox may or may not be all that and regardless of his development...I think safety is still a must in round 1 or round 2. For years now I've thought dbackfield required talent infusion and still do. Maybe we draft a top corner and move Carr to safety....beats me, but that spot can not be addressed in the late rounds or plugged with some 30 year old marginal player....least not in the dbackfield we shouldn't

Respectfully partially disagree Johnson has proven he is injury prone or has just been unlucky and has not showed anything in the regular season but the coaching staff must have seen something to keep him around even with the injury.

If more of the same happens this year then it will be his last chance anyway. Or he just might come out and show why he was kept around so you plan for the worst and hope for the best and move on.
