Of course, speculation about Deion immediately arises. This is what Jerry will do

Oh man I hope Jerrah does this. Lmao. I wouldn't be surprised if they just promoted DC Zimmer to HC since he's been a HC in the past.

If you adhere to the theory that all Jerry cares about is publicity--and there is much to support this theory after the past three decades--Deion is going to get this job. Makes perfect sense!

I don't think McCarthy was good, but he deserves some credit for managing to leave Dallas with a winning record. Few could have succeeded in that situation.

Edit: Deion is the early favorite per the betting markets! Make it happen Jerry! Trade Dak and Parsons for #1 overall!

Would love to see Parsons leave and end up with the Eagles. At this point, anything is possible.

I assume Dak would be sent to Tennessee in that scenario…

Technically it could work as a post June trade...

Dak's $150M cap hit is about $100M signing bonus and then $50M guaranteed salary for the year. Dallas has to absorb that $100M regardless, they can't trade that away. A post 6/1 trade means only half the $100M would hit in 2025 (other half in 2026), so it's possible. Now I dunno if there's a handshake agreement or how that works because the draft and the draft pick trade would happen before the post 6/1 trade... I'm sure there's some legal way to negotiate it per the CBA (if Jerry backs out after the trade, Tennessee gets the rights back to Sanders).

Would prob. be a 2025 1st, 2026 1st, 2027 1st, Dak Prescott, and other picks though. Tennessee would be absolutely STUPID not to do something like that, given Sanders I don't think is really even worth a 1st rounder let alone #1 overall lol. They would pick up Dak's contract though and the cap hit in 2025 for that is $50M - Tennessee would be responsible for that. Now Dallas could maybe save some draft capital by taking on MORE of that (as another bonus per say). The Giants did that with Seattle. They basically took on more of his yearly salary by making it a 'bonus' so Seattle had to give up a little more because they didn't have the cap... but I imagine since the Titans have so much cap they'll just take the picks instead.

McCarthy isn’t the reason the Cowboys had a bad year this year and I don’t think he’s the main one responsible for all of the issues in Dallas. Jerry‘s constant meddling and being a control freak is what has caused problems, unless Jerry dials it back I don’t think the Cowboys will ever get over the hump. I don’t think McCarthy is great but he’s not a bad coach either. Very curious to see who takes this job, as I think Jerry’s control makes it an unappealing position

I mean the Cowboys handled this so badly. They could have gotten some compensation a week ago if Jerry simply let McCarthy interview with the Bears. If he left. Dallas could have went after Vrabel. Now I love the way the Boys handled this. I truly love Jerry running the show in D. And if he hires Deion yo be the next HC, lmao it will be the greatest circus. It's just mind-boggling how the Cowboy fanbase can deal with this continuously?
