At least he said "advise" and they're not straight up mandating it. Some of the more sane states can just ignore it. And even if states go along, you would think individual cities could also decide for themselves. That is supposedly what the Republicans want.

I dont think they have ditched the working class, reaching them might be another thing. There were numerous things in Harris' platform that would have benefited the working class far more than anything in Trump's "platform". Then on the other side you have a man from New York living in a gold penthouse who has 50 years in the public eye not paying his workerss or putting down the working class - whose message of anger and hate resonated with a lot of the working class. I am not sure that is the democrat's fault.

At the end of the day and after a long campaign of little more than bigotry and hate, Trump got enough votes that its obvious a lot of Americans bought into that. The democrats pointed that out thinking it would upset people and sway voters back, it didn't. I am not sure that's the democrat's fault either.

I like Bernie and love his policies and would love to implement some, but I think its disingenuous of him to suggest going further left is the answer. It's just not electable and he knows that.
Propaganda and biased news sources have been a problem for a long time, and when you can get people to shoehorn themselves in podcast fandoms it's much easier to lead the lambs to slaughter with disingenuous messaging.

Like I said a few weeks ago, not knowing what was in the Harris/Dem platform that would benefit you says more about you than it does about her.

At the end of the day, hatred and bigotry won as you said, and only now are people trying to rationalize and justify that feeling by saying all this other malarkey. Astonishing the number of people who just voted Republican complaining about the lack of a Dem primary. While a real concern, it was a very unique circumstance that couldn't have been handled a whole lot differently given Joe's reluctance to accept his decline for so long. Yeah, he could have done that better, but it is what it is.

That’s not it. I just said I don’t think Bernie would win… and yes the Left has ditched the working class, there are tons of articles on that very subject even before it becoming the talking point the last couple days.

Trump’s marketing and brainwashing worked better than the Democrats. I’m not saying he is going to deliver, I’m saying people are fed up and threw their vote his way. People care more about their day to day experience, the Left is failing them there. Where are middle class tax cuts? National healthcare? Bill Clinton promised those things and ditched it for NAFTA and welfare reform. There’s been lots of promises that have not come through for the average worker.

Biden got dealt a shitty hand with COVID, which I’m sure a lot of people are still dealing with the aftermath of financially, and it’s being held against him and by extension Kamala. Can’t really blame people for associating Kamala with Biden.

I disagree. She released her platform way too late, on purpose. And it’s up to them to get that message out, and get the messaging right.

The average voter is just not smart, I don’t know what to stay, not trying to say you, me, or anyone in here is a genius, but the average person doesn’t even know how the government operates, what each level of government is even responsible for. They want to be motivated and excited, and then some of the promises that led that excitement needs to come to fruition.

Some people were just never going to vote for a black woman, they just weren't. And then they justify it, well try to, by pointing out every single flaw - even ones other candidate had as well. But the real issue was always her gender and color.

That’s definitely a factor. Racism is an issue on the left as well, it’s just quieter than the right.

But that’s not the only problem. Obama was the only exciting candidate on the Left, at least in my lifetime. (To actually get the nomination, Bernie will always be my #1)

Does remembrance day and veterans Day even mean anything anymore? Did everyone die for absolutely nothing to have America taken over by racists, facists and Nazis? Canada is about to do the same .....

Everyone talks about retaking the house and Senate in 2 years but I don't think that is going to happen.. I don't know if there is ever going to be another election in the US

I know I'm maybe being over dramatic maybe I'm not .. I don't really care about how people feel about me anymore..

I'm part of the problem I had blind faith that good would prevail that people would see the decency in what could be but they choose trump knowing everything about him. Knowing his lies, knowing his hate, knowing his cheating, his racism, his lack of empathy, decency, basic abilities to govern.. and they voted for him anyway or choose not to even vote or picked some independent because she is a woman...

I've always had a little problem with the kill them with kindness philosophy.. that doesn't work but I can't change who I am to be a worse person or lack the ability to care for women,. LGBQT, minorities and those with disabilities that will be impacted ... I'll still fight as much as I can but to what end .... It's feels so hopeless when a criminal takes power and most of the country celebrates it ..

I've not slept well at all since Tuesday night

You’re not alone, that’s why a lot of people have given up on voting. I know quite a few of them. They feel like their vote means nothing, and that it’s all talk, and honestly they’re not wrong. The democrats need to return to being a party for the people, run a more populist platform, and hopefully rebuild. Otherwise, we’ve got a long red future ahead of us.

Yeah, but that's the issue right there - Republicans win when people don't vote. Why do you think Republicans are so gung ho about voter suppression? They want low voter turnout because that's how they win.

Then it’s on democrats to excite voters.

This isn’t a voter issue. I mean shame on those that are so disengaged that they don’t care, but the Left can do better.

Stop focusing on pronouns and go after the blue collar worker.

Man, that stop focusing on pronouns line is right out of the Matt Walsh playbook.

If they want to win… then that’s a pivot they need to make. I’m not a bigot, I’m just being a realist.

I am surprised they didn’t find the foreigner who knew exactly what was going on. That is always perfect with these as it proves over and over how ill-informed people in the US are.
