Had his father not worked out in Washington, do you think they'd go to Kyle or would Kyle likely be a casualty of Mike being fired? I would think the best transition would be to give/recommend Kyle once Mike wants to retire - after doing well - Mike could go to GM if he has that talent (?). But that's assuming they are close as father and son and that Mike wants to set up the best position for Kyle.

I hope the Browns hire Chip Kelly. That franchise deserves him. He'll be there two years, get run out town on the rails and go crawling to Austin Peay or some Juco.

I don't have a good enough read on the situation to really say confidently. Might/would depend on how Mike exits the organization, unless as you suggested, he goes into the front office.

Thanks for your time, I asked because I know you know a lot about the NFL, not just the Niners. But you also wouldn't just make something up, either. So I appreciate that. Happy New Years!

Chip Kelly won't make it in the NFL but we all know somebody will hire him, probably the Browns.

I actually think Kelly will be a really good HC, if hired by the right team. I don't think the Browns are that team with Weeden. If he is hired by Cleveland I'd start Lewis next year over Weeden.

Surely any high-profile college coach who is flirting with the NFL would have the good sense to know not to go to the Browns. No offense to Browns fans, but that can't be a good combination.

Chip Kelly should be waiting for Carolina call. They are likely the closes team to fitting his offense that would be looking for a coach.

Okay, now that interests me! Not sure I love the idea but I think we'll take what we can get at this point, especially since he's an OLine guy.

Multiple sources stating Bill O'Brien will stay at Penn State.

Adam Caplan:

Eagles, Browns, Chargers and 2 other teams were on him, but O'Brien never wanted to leave.
