Coaching changes official; Tatupu added to staff

As expected, Kris Richard was named Defensive Coordinator of the Seahawks. Lofa Tatupu was added to the staff as assistant linebackers coach with Michael Barrow taking over Norton's spot as linebackers coach. Also added was Brennan Carroll, Pete's son, as assistant offensive line coach.

Adding Lofa, one of the smartest Linebackers to ever play for the Hawks to the staff is a good move. It was Lofa's situational and football smarts that made him so good, lets hope he can transfer that to the players.

Also people remember Lofa was taught by Pete and knows Pete's defense as well as anyone out there. His background at USC and Pete being around this kid growing up that i am sure Pete has not problems at all with Tatupu. I think this is a solid pick-up, no, more than solid.

It used to mean Seattle could block him from interviewing for anything below a head coaching position, as anything else wouldn't be a promotion, but the rules seem to have changed.

Cable is a assistant head coach. How many assist head coaches is normal? I would think just one, so is Cable still a assist head coach also?

Seeing Lofa out there coaching this rookies up was great and i was told he was very active. I hear He pulled people off to the side a handful of times to coach them up. Out of all the past Hawks players i believe Lofa is one of the few that will make a great coach. The others would be FB Mack Strong and QB Matt Hasselbeck.
