His player development skills is as good as they come in this league

And yet, how many times have we seen you blast him and call him a bad coach? lol

I do agree though, dudes player development skills are as good as anyone and better than most.

Well they gave it to Nurse last season right? Williams deserves it big time.

Heat of the moment crazy fan in me at those times. My biggest issue with him always been his rotations. When Oladipo back im sure he will do something to get me bad but pure coaching? One of the best

Nah thibs. Nurse got it the previous year after losing kawhi. Had they resigned kawhi then i doubt he would have won it

But Kerr deserves votes as no one thought the Ws still missing Klay would be this good.

Yes he definitely deserves votes but I would put Bickerstaff, Donovan and Jenkins ahead of him for now. I think at this point Monty and Kerr are both in the same boat, both have great records but both were expected to be top 4 seeds or around there.

Warriors really weren't expected to be top 4 without Klay though

Sure but by the end of the year I don't think anyone would have been surprised. I had them top 4. Especially with how things have turned out with Covid and certain teams hit hard but also Kawhi, PG13, Bron, AD, Morant, Booker all missing significant amount of time.

The point is their jump in the standings isn't a bigger jump than the Cavs or Grizz. The Bulls were a question mark so hard to judge. You could also say the Suns have dealt with more injuries and covid than the Warriors and basically have the same record.

I don't think Kerr will or should win but he's very much in the discussion IMO. They are dramatically overachieving and a lot of the reason is coaching so the depth works so well. Kerr managed to turn Wiggins into a good player, he should win an award just for that LOL

Yes they did.

And those odds include a healthy Klay for the playoffs along with the possibility of a major trade given the collection of young assets the Dubs have.

Klay hasn’t played a game, nor has Wiseman and the Dubs haven’t made a major trade. Yet, they have the best record in the NBA.

They have knocked the early season expectations out of the park and everyone who is being honest knows this.

That being said, Monte is my pick for coach of the year so far.

I don't think anyone is disagreeing but w/o Klay they are a top 6/7 seed.

The Warriors still had +1100 odds which was greater than the Suns at +1400 (kinda shocking even if Klay didn't play the entire season regardless)
The Cavs currently in the 5 seed were at +50,000
The Grizz currently in the 4 seed were at +10,000
The Bulls currently in the 1 seed were at +12,500

So yeah Kerr is top 5 but lets not exaggerate considering these other teams and their dramatic turnarounds as of right now. I don't see the Bulls dropping from a top 3 seed honestly so I could actually see Donovan winning it if the Bulls somehow pull a 1 seed.
