Everyone has injuries, young or old. The way Lebron takes care of his body, he is built for a very long career. The point is nobody knows if he will have injury problems like he sort of did last year, a season where he played and started 69 games and a postseason where he played all 20 games at 42 mpg. He will most certainly get more rest, but the fact you know he will have injuries and that's why he will get less minutes is just...
That's not entirely true. Yes, Lebron takes care of himself probably more then any other athlete in the NBA. He's a freak of nature. However, Lebron at 31 is a very old 31 when you look at the minutes he's logged. He's about to go to his 6th NBA Finals this year (barring any unforeseen circumstance). Regardless of who you are, that adds up. This is why shaqdaddy mentioned 2-3 years. It's not because he's a psychic, it's because it's usually par for the course when athletes get around their mid-30's.
Well that's why I said rest will most likely be the case, in 3 years or so. Injuries happen to everyone, that is a given, but saying he WILL get injured is not definite. Wearing down will definitely happen, it does to everyone. Remember at 33-34 Kobe was still going strong at 38 mpg.

Back issues don't improve either.
His frustration level will also grow, cause he isn't winning any rings with the Cavs IMO
I think most of it has to do with him being tired-and trying to balance his energy throughout the game/season. LBJ knows down deep he isn't winning a title with this group he's playing with now. He also knows (after that horrible showing without him) that they don't even make the playoffs as an 8 seed if he isn't super LBJ EVERY game.I don't he is as consistently locked in as he was during Cleveland#1 and Miami years. He sometimes has "James Harden" moments where he watches the ball and loses his guy.
I think sometimes it would be better for him to guard a tough player to keep him focused. (Melo, Durant, etc.) But this should be balanced with playing time and wearing down.
Not to mention Curry is always defending guards-which means more work because they have the ball more.Curry's defense also gets overlooked. His defense is not great like LeBron's defense, but it seems that most think Curry is a poor defender. Currently LeBron is at 35.3 FG% allowed, while Curry is at 39.5%. LeBron does have the edge in that his opponents usual FG% is 44.7, while for Curry it is 43.3. Curry's not great at defense, but he is far from the defensive liability that he usually is made out to be.
Well in comparison Kobe was doing it on a regular basis at 31 and older. At 31, he shouldn't have to guard the best player but like you said he really lives up to the challenge and plays harder when he does IMO.
So when lebron hits 34 you actually think he's still going to be playing a full season without rest? And he's not going to be lingered with annoying little injures which make him miss a game or two?
I guess lebron must be a medical miracle then, Dr Assole Finger-popping!
More rest doesn't fix a bad back.Everyone has injuries, young or old. The way Lebron takes care of his body, he is built for a very long career. And at age 37 Kobe is still averaging 35 mpg, what's your point?
I'd put an avi bet on that Lebron will get multiple little injuries in 2 to 3 years time but I understand you'll probably be graduating high school around that time and be too stressed out deciding whether you'll go to community college or go straight to working the fryers at Burger King.

LeBron will hold the Decision part III this summer. And he will announce that he's taking his talents to China & teaming up w/ Michael Beasley.
