She must have some kind of a work visa that allows her entry into the US to play poker tourneys - I'm just curious if she has to self-quarantine for 14 days after returning to Canada from the States.

in bc, a canadian resident returning to canada is supposed quarantine those 14 days you mention plus provide a quarantine plan complete with contact information. Cbsa provides this contact info to the local police as far as i know and the police will check in with you. Not sure if thats going on in ontario or if its 100% going on here. My inlaws know a couple who returned from arizona (driving) and surrey rcmp visited them twice to “see how things are going”

Oh oh oh oh ... police state ? Maybe ... but ill take 10 cases a day for that right now instead of the 350 cases daily they're averaging 50 miles south
