Mrs. BBB is looking for non-ICU work. Less to do with abuse, more to do with being sick of getting doubled-up with patients more often than her Union agreement allows for (once per month) and the never-ending fucking morons winding up in there because they won’t get vaccinated.

Also, I can’t stress enough how much damage those stupid fucking hospital protests morons here did last month did to healthcare workers’ psyches. Morale is just rock bottom there right now. Lack of ICU staff is going to get really bad.

I cannot imagine the protests and their effects. For the most part they have not happened here. And for the most part my state and area are highly vaccinated so I had not heard too many really bad stories about the ERs and ICUs in my area. Sad. And there is something wrong with someone who wants to spend their day arguing with people trying to help them.

Our area has a pretty high vax rate and low hospitalization rate for Covid, the problem is they're transporting patients from the interior and elsewhere in BC that have run out of hospital capacity and that's keeping the unit pretty full as cases have spiked like hell in the last month and a half out in BC's considerable hillbilly country.

Just listened to a work meeting. Apparently we are losing health care workers, especially ER ones. Not only are they dealing with people infected with Covid a good portion of their day, the people infected are mean, argumentative, and confrontational. So many workers are tired of putting up with that for 12 hour shifts and are finding new jobs.

I do realize this is not exactly news and has been widely reported, it was just different to listen to someone I work with talk about it.

Nah, according to supposed trustworthy talking heads, they just don't want to work.
