It looks like Zach Bowman, Johnny Knox and Chris Harris are all in the plans for a contract extension.

Knox and Bennett will keep getting better and Cutler will have two seasons in a row with the same corps that will help too. Forte will be a huge factor in the passing game and the running game this season too. I just wish they would settle this contract so we can get to the OTAs.

Its interesting, like when we got Mark Carrier, his first season he had 10 interceptions. then he never got past 32 in an 11 year career, but it really was all about Mike singletary,Dan Hampton,Steve Mcmicheal,Richard Dent and Trace Armstrong , all constantly harassing the quarterback all the time after his first season Hampton retired and singletary left too. That shows you how much your interior pass rushers efffect the interceptions some of these players get.

I like Knox, I think he'll be a steady wideout for a long time.

Assuming we have a season, I think Earl Bennett will have a breakout season. I know he's not a traditional No.1, but his hands are a s good as they get. Early season injuries, kinda derailed his season last year...with new a new offensive coordinator coming in and him getting hurt early, Martz never really saw what he was fully capable of. Dude, runs great routes, and if he touches it, he catches it. Add to that, that him and Jay played together in college and therefore have a furthered chemistry than the rest. I see him moving into the "No. 1" spot this season.

Other players I see having "breakout" years....Izzy Idonije. Last season was his first season at DE. He still had 8 sacks. With his work ethic and attitude, he will only get better. I see the Bears rotating Corey Wooton in occasionally as well, and this guy will eventually be a star IMO. He definitely has the frame for it...looks like a mirror image of Peppers physically. Look for Henry Melton to increase his playing time and production as well, particularly now that T. Harris has moved on. I expect Major Wright to make big strides this year, as I expect the Bears not to re-sign D. Manning (even tho, I may not agree with that move) He was a pleasant surprise last year?

Will say this regarding the lockout...if the season doesn't happen, it hurt hurt the Bears, as much as ANY team in the league...guys like Urlacher and Peppers have to be unnerved by the prospect.

Let's go billionaire owners and millionaire players...getting tougher and tougher to root for either of ya?!

P.S.

I'm tempted to cave, and make another FOX account, just so I can tell that waste of skin big footballski aka fan4life where to go, and how to get there....what a freaking douchebag that guy is....his only purpose for taking the time to log in to FOX, is to make some jackass comment about Cutler? He has no other interest in the site...no friends, no insight, no class....fn loser man. Funny thing is he's a Vikes fan, and Cutler's played his best ball against the Vikes since arriving in Chicago? Bitter old craw.

BD i have to agree on Bennett and IZZY i also see Melton and Adams playing BUddy Ryan like Football too with the one handed tackles. I think Forte will really be huge this season too under Martz for a second year. I love this coaching staff, the only thing missing is Buddy Ryan and it would be the best staff since i have been alive.

Right now they are saying we have 26 roster spots to fill/ or in other words spots that don't have guaranteed starters in them. We might still be interested in signing a veteran guard. which is really huge for us right now.
