Pac12 was shit compared to other conferences, and they won all of 1 Natty.
LSU won 2. Florida won 2.
PAC12 didnt exist in that decade. The PAC10 won 2 NCs in that decade.

No
It's cyclical even if the cycles can last a decade or more. Some other team will rise up like Clemson did and someone else will fall on hard times leaving room for the next tier to step up.
And no matter how the chips fall at the top, I'll still love watching my team and the others I like. It won't change a thing.
After Tua went out, Oregon likely is favored vs. Bama.
You can love your team or love your team's success. As an Auburn fan, I can attest that the two are not mutually inclusive.
Don't let the 21 other blue chip starters and their coach's accomplishments fool you. Now if you can make them attempt … attempt I say … FGs to win, you are golden.

True.
Your conference was even shittier back then. Supposed best ever team got taken down by Texas and Vince Young.
Imagine if you actually had to play an SEC team in 2004?
#1 Defense in FBS for Red Zone TD %. I think Oregon would be fine there.
Auburn wasn't nearly as good as USC or Oklahoma. The SEC was complete garbage that season.
Even without Tua, if you cannot get consistent pressure with your front four to disrupt the run and pass … you lose. We beat both you and Bama. Even without Tua, Bama is the better team and the harder out.
Funny how you dismiss the only undefeated team not sanctioned by the NCAA as garbage while extolling the PAC.
I said CFP...not BCS.Auburn has a national championship this decade and played for another. Don't be ridiculous.

Right. Cuz their record of every other season in and among other conferences best was garbage. Auburn undefeated in 2004 was an "outlier" in some form or fashion I guess.
Oklahoma getting spanked on the national stage is nothing new.
That is your 1. Others, including multiples from the SEC had more.
I wasn't being overly generous, just trying to be objective. It may have been more of an indictment of those they were matched up against. Some of those conferences 3rd, 4th and 5th place teams were just so so IMO. Not bad by any means, just not reall good either. That is very valid point and I should have been more precise. In my train of thought, a conference is defined by the depth of top tier schools and/or lack thereof, not the mid and lower tiers. Auburn has been in all three tiers over the last decade.
IMHO you may be too generous to the SEC on the hypothetical matchups but my point is more geared towards saying that we have more top tier teams and therefore our fourth and fifth teams are more of a challenge to any other conference's champion/runner up than vice versa. To put it more simply, recent history … which is in no way a guarantee of future performances … shows that even if our traditional blue bloods do not make the CFP, we have much better chances of competing in the playoffs than other conferences.
2003 as well.

I'm not as sold on Georgia and Florida as many others are right now. It may be just my opinion but they are still behind the three SEC West biggies. Closing the gap a little but still....
Even though I listed Georgia as 2nd in the SEC, I think Bama is their 2nd best team.
LSU was better.
USC had a run, but never had to beat an SEC team. 1 title. 1 title that is respected among the masses. That is it. That is all you have.
This year.As a program, or this year?
