At what point is it time to put the "SEC IS THE GOAT" myth to bed.

We've leveled the playing field with NIL so they can't be hoarding talent by paying players under the table. We've opened the access to anyone outside of the SEC with the extended playoff. And what do you know but they are no where to be seen in the National Title game. I don't believe this is a coincidence.

The entire mythos of the SEC was built on cheating and restricting access. Now that they can't do that, we're staring at a 4 loss Alabama. Hell, they didn't have a single team finish the season with less than 3 losses. Can't say that I am shocked.

Amen brother! To him it's all an SEC/Commie conspiracy to corrupt college football. It would have worked too if the NIL hadn't saved us all!!

I watched Paul Finebaum on SEC final after the Buckeyes beat Texas.

"We are going to have to get used to the idea that Ohio State is playing Notre Dame in Atlanta for the national championship. It won't be easy."

Then, he went on to point out that Ohio State has 2 great SEC players, so there's that.

Every year is not this year, but this year every NCAA football champion will be from above the Mason-Dixon line.

NIL and the portal are creating more parity.

The SEC is still a great football conference, but the past 2 years haven't been their time.

Exactly. They don't have the artificial leg up anymore. (Well other than the massive ESPN checks)

The simple fact that people want to dance so hard on the grave of the SEC tells you all you need know.

The SEC has been the absolute bully of college football for the last 20 years and own every conference head to head for well over 60 years.

They have been the best for a very long time. The stats completely back it up.

Are times-a-changing? Maybe. Not sure I'd put 2 years of no SEC in the title game as the ultimate proof.

When another conference wins 13 of 18 championships maybe we can have this TED talk again.

I’d be surprised if the SEC doesn’t win 5 of the next 10. I really really hope I’m in complete shock in 10 years.

Now that paying players is legal and not under the table with SEC bagmen, the Big is back! How many natties did Saban win with NIL? Zero. That's what drove him to retire. Can't buy all the best players any more SEC.

Did he point out the LSU title was with an OSU QB and the SEC team we beat started an OSU QB in the last game?

At what point is it time to put the "SEC IS THE GOAT" myth to bed.
Firstly, I've been thinking about your post for some time and I have come to the conclusion that "SEC IS THE GOAT" myth exists only in your head. I haven't seen anyone else refer to the SEC as the GOAT.

We've leveled the playing field with NIL so they can't be hoarding talent by paying players under the table. We've opened the access to anyone outside of the SEC with the extended playoff. And what do you know but they are no where to be seen in the National Title game. I don't believe this is a coincidence.

"We've" leveled the playing field? At what "level" is the ACC at?

The entire mythos of the SEC was built on cheating and restricting access.

Next, kindly provide some details about this statement!

At what point is it time to put the "SEC IS THE GOAT" myth to bed.

Finally, returning to your first statement. Yes, it is true that an SEC teams didn’t win the NC the past two seasons but... to paraphrase Mark Twain, “The reports of the SEC’s death are an exaggeration.”

The final AP Poll for 2024 contains: 7 SEC teams, 5 B1G teams, 4 ACC teams, 4 Big 12 teams, and ND (plus 2 AAC teams and 2 MWC teams).

The final Massey Composite rankings for 2024 contains: 9 SEC teams, 6 B1G teams, 4 ACC teams, 4 Big 12 teams, 1 MWC team, and ND (plus 0 AAC teams).

The final Sagarin rankings for 2024 contains: 10 SEC teams, 7 B1G teams, 4 ACC teams, 3 Big 12 teams, and ND (plus 0 AAC teams and 0 MWC teams).

The final Massey rankings for 2024 contains: 10 SEC teams, 7 B1G teams, 4 ACC teams, 3 Big 12 teams, and ND (plus 0 AAC teams and 0 MWC teams).

The final Sagarin rankings for 2024 had the following conference power ranking: SEC teams 82.03, B1G teams 78.39, Big 12 teams 77.25, ACC teams 72.68.

The final Massey rankings for 2024 had the following conference power ranking: SEC teams 8.23, B1G teams 8.06, Big 12 teams 7.82, ACC teams 7.63.

The results for year 2023 looks similar.

Those don't sound like results for a dead conference to me. Can you say the same about the ACC?
