I wouldn't put it like that...

Say rather, Theis wouldn't be a deal-breaker if a big deal could be swung and that was the sticking point.

But the Celtics are under no compulsion (and would be foolish) to try to move him just to move him.

Theis is playing great ball for a low cost role player.

I don't think it's too dramatic to say that, without Payton Pritchard, we would have lost 3 to 4 more games to this point in the season.

That would put the Celtics at either 10-14 or 9-15 instead of where we are at 13-11.

I get that but what's the trade to get him? I don't see a way to land both Gordon and Aldridge. You could probably get the Cavs to give away Drummond and then land Gordon.

Again, the C's have excuses with a few guys out.

Those excuses plus a nickel amount to jack squat, though.

I watched the whole game last night, and the C's are getting outworked.... period. A lot of standing around on offense, a lot of of sloppy dribbling and passes, a lot of flat-footedness on defense... it's miserable to watch.

I wonder if something is going on that hasn't gotten out yet. This is pretty much the exact opposite of how the Celtics have played for the past few years. They may not have always won, but the effort was always there.

They gotta make a move. I get that Tatum and Brown are still quite young but they're wasting all those resources they had with middling draft picks instead of acquiring the talent to put them over the top
