Excited for the future, but think the Deacs are in for (another) rough year. They will be starting the year with seven scholarship players due to suspensions and injuries.

Shaka Smart is already doing new stuff. Tonight, he's having a free practice game at Gregory Gym on campus. It's a very old gym, where the top five ranked women volleyball team currently plays and where the men's basketball team played for many years back in the old days before the Erwin Center was built.

I like the old gym, wish I could have gone tonight. But it's really for students and a few reporters. First 500 got shirts and food...

Watched many a Texas HS state tournament game in Gregory Gym in the 60s/early 70s....pre Drum days. I liked the old place. Looks like it has had a significant face lift.

Gregory gym was a favorite as well...even after I graduated, used to go play racquetball in the bowels of the place, old courts down there. They also had a newer section with newer courts, but it was a cool place.

Wake has been so awful since they fired Dino in 2010 that I actually have a hard time caring about what is going on in Chapel Hill right now. I'm more pissed that an AD that basically gave his own basketball program the death penalty in 2010 still has a job.

Oh look... the rarest of the rare, a USC basketball fan appears. Should finally see a step forward this year with literally everybody returning this year while adding Boatwright and Metu to the mix. I liked the Enfield hire and his time is now to start turning the program positively forward. Reallllllllly excited.
