If you can't start on time and play a full season, pack it in and wait until next year.

Fans are tired of this shit.

It is hilarious how people who know nothing of the actual negotiations outside of a paragraph or two every other day are making absolute statements like “The players are 100% to blame!” or “The owners are nothing but greedy assholes and are totally to blame for this!”.

it is absolutely both of their faults. And I know this absolutely. Believe me. I know!
No, it is 100% on the owners. The MLBPA hasn’t asked for anything a single thing that isn’t reasonable. It boils down to the owners want to suppress the league minimum wages and the highest earners while still subsidizing teams who profit off not even attempting to win.

Funny how the players union is looking out for the players interests...and the owners group is looking out for the interests of their fellow owners.

Meanwhile, neither really gives a crap about the fans interests anymore....or for that matter, of the folks who perform all the menial tasks, working at the stadiums throughout the season..many of which are part time only. Concessions, groundskeeping, maintenance, parking lot, security...etc.

And like I mentioned earlier in this thread, it boils down to billionaires arguing with millionaires to decide how a kids game/national pass time gets played....while the fans, blue collar workers and their families become the forgotten ones.

Since 2011...........The NFL CBT (salary cap).......rose by 53%

and the MLB CBT .....rose by 91%

MLB Tv stats by the way.

The NFL does not fully guarantee their contracts with players.
MLB does have fully guaranteed contracts with their players.

and which sport is more dangerous to play?

And now the MLB players want to be paid for games they don't even play in?

The MLB players say that the luxury tax restricts free agency? That's a laugh!!!!!!!!

The MLB players are lunatics.

I'm afraid things are not looking good, guys.
Greed has a nasty way of ruining everything eventually.

The players should accept MLB's latest offer, but only for a 2 or 3 year deal...not the 5 the owners want....and see where it goes. They'd emerge as the sensible side in this BS fiasco imho...and the fans would likely have their backs too.

In a statement released Tuesday evening, the Major League Baseball Players Association said it is "seeking nothing more than a fair agreement."

This statement comes on the heels of MLB commissioner Rob Manfred officially delaying the beginning of the 2022 regular season due to the lack of a new collective bargaining agreement. It reads, in part: "Rob Manfred and MLB's owners have cancelled the start of the season. Players and fans around the world who love baseball are disgusted, but sadly not surprised. ... Against the backdrop of growing revenues and record profits, we are seeking nothing more than a fair agreement. ... What Rob Manfred characterized as a "defensive lockout" is, in fact, the culmination of a decades-long attempt by owners to break our Player fraternity."

MLBPA executive director Tony Clark said in a press conference on Tuesday night that the union is willing to resume negotiations with MLB as soon as Wednesday.

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred suggested in an earlier press conference -- the one in which he announced an official delay to the start of the regular season -- that the two parties would not reconvene before Thursday. Clark and MLBPA lead negotiator Bruce Meyer also rejected the owners' stance that players will not be paid for cancelled games, and that games could not be rescheduled. Throw another log on the fire, as 2022 player salaries figure to be an additional sticking point whenever the CBA talks do indeed get back underway.

Um…

There was no twerking in that vid…
yeah that was false advertising I guess. But the way that Vegas QB goes through the progressions, I swear she looks better than a lot of NFL QBs.
