"It is high, it is far.....caught by Gleyber in shallow left field"

Sterling's catch phrases bother me a whole lot more. He seriously makes home run calls all about him. I can't listen to highlights where he is calling home runs without wanting to stab something in my ears.

This isn't me being Anti-Yankee either, because Michael Kay is absolutely phenomenal.

Sterling is a freaking joke. Approaching Hawk Harrelson territory (not there yet, but he is trying)

That annoys me about Sterling too but not as much as a man on 2nd and there's a single and you have no idea if the runner is even trying to score. I don't like Kay although I thought he was better in radio back in the day. It is fun when Oneil is on and makes fun of Kaay. I liked the way Ken Singleton did the games. No nonsense and not many ex players do the actual play by play, most are color guys.

White Sox general manager Rick Hahn told reporters Friday that Major League Baseball has plans to "revisit April rosters" for the early part of the season due to an abbreviated spring training.

Alex Stumpf of DK Pittsburgh Sports has heard something similar from the Pirates. MLB has yet to announce anything about expanding rosters for a period of time in April, but it makes some sense. Worth noting is that the pandemic-shortened 2020 season started off with 30-man rosters.

I can this getting implemented as a permanent thing in future CBAs. Shorten ST but expand rosters on a stepped schedule for the first 3-4 weeks of the season. I could get behind that if it means starting the playoffs a bit earlier so we don’t have the World Series taking place in February.

Major League Baseball will change IL stints back to 15 days this season instead of the recently used 10-day version, according to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic.

Phillies general manager Dave Dombroski mentioned the rule change while talking to reporters on Sunday. A shift back to 15-day IL stints will certainly prevent certain teams from taking advantage of the injured list as a way of circumventing roster decisions.

Jayson Stark and Matt Gelb of The Athletic report that MLB and the MLBPA are discussing the possibility of restoring the rule which places a runner on second base to begin extra innings.

The negotiations are taking place as part of talks on health and safety protocols. While no agreement has been reached yet, several players told Stark and Gelb that they expect the rule to be restored when protocols are announced within the next 24-48 hours. The "ghost-runner" rule was used in 2020 and 2021 but had been expected to be dissolved for 2022.

you would think the universal celebration from baseball fans would be enough to let this abortion of a rule die. I fucking hate this league.
Typical Manfred. He does something that actually is cheered and less than a week later he back tracks on it.

2022 season starts tomorrow, too bad they have to compete with 16 CBB games.

Red Sox on NESN, one Cubs game on Marquee, and the Dbax are on Bally Sports AZ.
