Phil Jackson was a great coach. If need be he could out coach you.
Give Phil this Toronto team, and the Cavs win easy. Phil never did much with any teams lacking all time great players.

Phil's greatness was handling superstars, maxing their talent and effort and getting them to play together.

The guy just won the Coach Of The Year Award.........This is not going to sit well with Steven A Smith
Congrats on being NBA coach of the year....

LMAO COY then fired

This is what happened to George Karl in Denver. I think they are just now recovering. I don't know how George Karl would do if he stayed, but I think he won right before he was fired?

Now, of course, this coach of the year is not the traditional coach of the year. This one was voted by coaches. The one the NBA gives out is the one that is voted by journalists.

Just like the NFL this is a recycled business when it comes to coaching. These guys get fired one place, pop up somewhere else. Shockingly they all seem to have the exact same results wherever they go.

Once again, it's always the coach who takes the blame. How about fire the GM? It's not Casey fault that their 2 best players choke when they play Lebron.

Although I would usually agree with this. This is the way of the world. Also, Casey isn't without blame as well as the Raptors just looked all out of sorts and couldn't even do things that normal playoff teams do - like communicate on defense.

It isn't series that's the problem. It's being swept two years in a row when you have that much talent on the team. Raptors should've at least won 1 game against the Cavs given their respective issues.

Phil Jackson just ran the triangle and knew how to manage egos - the latter of which is what made him elite as it's much harder to do than you realize. He wasn't a guy that was going to out-coach you X's and O's wise like a Popovich.

No surprise to see. Casey's a good coach but his time with the Raptors had ran out.

Which is why Ainge looks like a genius now. Over a year ago I was blasting him for not being more aggressive with trading with his picks (I never had an issue with Stevens as a coach though in terms of the move of hiring him).

Ainge will go down as the greatest GM of modern day.
Stevens will bring multiple titles to Boston and the way he has built the Celtics over his time there has been amazing. Can't think of a more solid duo than Ainge and Stevens.

This is a far different world that running a steel mill

The fact that they are different "types" of work doesn't mean they are not equally valid businesses. You will find that there are a lot of similarities in the structure and/or core values of businesses despite offering different type of products/services.

Easier to change the coach than to swindle a team into taking I-bum-ka or Lowry.

This.

And the writing is on the wall that Toronto's window is gone as is wizards. Those teams have really hard choices to make this summer. The hawks are circling
