Phoenix hired Vogel to a 5 year deal worth 31 mill.....he got all that for 1 season.

LOL.
I'd have been happy for the Pistons to swap with them, returning Monty

You Pistons fans need to give Monty a chance. It's his first season there.

He didn't suddenly forget how to coach.

It's not like they had reasons to win either. Get your draft capital and build.

He never actually knew how to coach. When has he been successful without Chris Paul coaching the team.

With Cade back this season we were supposed to take a big step forward, not challenging for a top pick; and we were worse than ever.

You likely didn't watch many Pistons games, but his player usage, substitution patterns, and saying the opposite of what he actually did in press conferences was absolutely inexplicable. It is exactly what a coach that was trying to get fired would do.

Exactly.

Not like that was or is a win now situation....
It was a take a big step forward situation at the beginning of the season. That went out the window when Monty coached them to a league longest losing streak in the first 31 games. And yes, it was almost entirely on him, he changed absolutely nothing during the losing streak.

I still think that was a tanking action by the franchise, but we may never know I guess...

If it was it was strange to come out hot barely losing to the heat then winning 2 to start 2-1.

The players are never themselves tanking, other than being worn down by losing over the long haul. Again, I have nothing to base it on other than a hunch and no reason to expect Monty to be that bad going into the season.

It’s common sense.

Players have zero incentive to tank. Just makes them look bad and hurts future earning potential when they don’t play well.
