Can it be done in todays NFL. The way the game has changed sickens me personally. I like def, I used to love smashmouth football. I felt the whole team was more important then any one player, unlike today. Look who is left in the playoffs. 4 elits QBs and only one real (full) team in SEA. Does it matter who the coach is? is any of the top coaches really any better then the other coaches or do they just have better QBs. BB has a losing record without Brady.

Seattle did it last year. Baltimore the year before. Giants year before that.

I agree, Wilson and Flacco were not considered elite when they won the superbowls. You can argue that Eli manning or Big ben were not elite when he won his first. You can even argue that Brady was not elite when he won his first. Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, nowhere near elite.

That is the whole difference with the term. There are players that became elite because they won a super bowl. There are players that are deemed elite by paycheck that cant even get their teams to the playoffs.

Well it wasn't BB. From '91 to '95 he was 36-44.

I'm not sure what you are talking about Noon. All 4 of this year's finalists are pretty well-rounded teams. Probably the weakest unit of the 8 is the Green Bay defense, but even they are at least pretty good.

BB went 11-5 in NE with Cassel for a year. He was in the middle of the shit abyss in Cleveland in the 90's, not much he could do.

And Flacco continues to have post-season success, Roethlisberger has two rings, Russell Wilson could be on his way to a second, Kaep has gotten to multiple NFC title games and a super bowl… etc…

So, yeah...

The Pats are good enough to win despite subpar play from Tom Brady.

A backhanded complement but we will take it.
Brady was great, the running game was non-existent.

Um... no. If it wasn't for 191 rushing yards the Bears gave up.

Don't tell me you're still a Rex Grossman supporter too… :L

lol

Yeah though… the 2006 Bears defense was clearly to blame. Obviously, Rex Grossman's stellar play and the offense carried that defensive unit that was top 5 in virtually every category. And #1 in many prior to resting the starters the final two weeks.

That defense just plain stunk.

Tex not sure why you gave me a thumbs down for asking a question. Not that I mind. How ever I said in todays NFL. The rule changes are new, old examples are no longer valid.

I know it's been a couple of years ... but the Ravens did it with Dilfer a few years back ... I believe defense was their key.
Yup.

Thanks. If BB had Brady in Cleveland do you think things might have been different? What was his record in NE before Brady? Sorry not trying to disparage BB or anyone else, just making a point that the QB position is more important then ever in todays game.
