Good for him. I hope Rivers tears down all the Bears banners tonight, although he'll probably have to take the field a few hours early to get it done before the game, lol.

Is there some rule about not hanging banners? Seems pretty petulant of Cam...

I hope charges are brought forth and the dude wins...

I thought it was perfect...the owner should gladly pay the guy for the sign with a note...you're welcome back, but not your sign next time.
So you support crude behavior.

Not a big deal really. I've seen players pull down banners before.

Remember when Shaun Ellis threw a snowball the size of a Volkswagen at Seahawk fans? That was good stuff.

In this circumstance...yes. He tore up a sign...if he had hit the guy or something...no.
Maybe you would be in favor of stadium personnel confiscating the Packers fans cheese-heads.

Idiot? On this issue...I don't blame him...that's his home field. If I were Cam, I'd stroke a check for the guy's sign any day of the week.
It may be his home field but that fan paid to purchase a ticket and help pay his salary. Cam has the maturity of a 10 year old.

No...that's a personal item...I've worn a Steeler jersey to many opposing team stadiums...but, an opposing team banner?

I'm surprised the home fans didn't tear it down...do you think a Panthers banner would survive at Lambeau?

So a fan can't show allegiance to his or her team?

I think fans are more than welcome to show their allegiances. But, if you have any common sense as a fan you should know full well how a banner will go over in an opposing teams stadium. To not expect a reaction would be crazy. That doesn't make ripping the banner apart right on Cam's part but I understand the mentality there. Actually, I think it shows how well mannered Carolina's fans are that they didn't do it themselves.

The act of a grown man tearing down a sign does lack maturity if you just leave it in that context...trying to establish or preserve some type of home field advantage for his team...I get it, but I understand your side of it.

Exactly...the teams that enjoy a true home field advantage would never allow an opposing team's banner hanging in their stadium.

No excuse for Newton to do something like that, shameful behavior for sure.

I think you can do that w/o hanging a banner. Seriously...with the fan violence we've seen in CA at MLB (of all sports) games, I'm surprised the folks @ Charlotte stadium authority allowed him in with it.
