Don't get mad when Packers fans take over your stadium. Expect it.

I think fans are more than welcome to show their allegiances. But, if you have any common sense as a fan you should know full well how a banner will go over in an opposing teams stadium. To not expect a reaction would be crazy. That doesn't make ripping the banner apart right on Cam's part but I understand the mentality there. Actually, I think it shows how well mannered Carolina's fans are that they didn't do it themselves.
It's only a damn football game. Folks are that offended over a banner?

Lol. Some real sensitive types in here. It was just a freaking sign.
That's what I would say to Cam...would have been better if he went over, signed it with the date and score vs. being a petulant little child and tearing it up

Exactly...the teams that enjoy a true home field advantage would never allow an opposing team's banner hanging in their stadium.
I've seen many visiting team's fans hanging their banners at AT&T stadium without incident. A football game shouldn't be a life or death issue but only a diversion from everyday life.

I've heard of fans of the home team ripping down opposing teams banners but never one of the players

I think you can do that w/o hanging a banner. Seriously...with the fan violence we've seen in CA at MLB (of all sports) games, I'm surprised the folks @ Charlotte stadium authority allowed him in with it.
You can blame overindulgence in alcoholic beverages as a prime reason for the violence.

Why is this even a story?
Because it shows how much of a insecure individual Newton is. If he lets an opposing teams banner get in his head can you really expect him to go far in the playoffs?

That's Cam's house, bitch. You want to put a sign up do it at your house. Next time that fan tries it he should be gutted and his carcass thrown over the rail.

Farther than the Packers without home field advantage.

Fans should be well mannered and should expect opposing team's fans to be able to display allegiance to their team. If folks get that upset over a banner maybe they have anger management issues and should seek emotional counseling.

If he took it from a child and the child cried, I would feel bad for that child. But a grown man that gets his sign destroyed, cries about it, then other grown men get indignant about that guys sign? Give me a fucking break... I don't disagree that Cam was being childish, but everyone else seems to be following suit.
