Cam Newton: I'm an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they haven't

People took umbrage to this, until it was prominently displayed in commercials... then it became funny. :L

People are ok with receivers and running backs doing it. Just not the QBs, who are supposed to be leaders, and smarter.

I dislike Rodgers a lot too, don't worry.

Yeah, most of em are cool...I just hate that snail-and-cheese-eating half-frog, Rex Racer, with his non-showering, and his woman's hairy armpits

I'm not a half frog.

Me personally? I wish they'd all do their little celebration among themselves and get back to the sidelines. Whether it's offense or defense. Jared Allen's hog tie. Josh Robison's fishing. Even as a Vikings' fan, it drove me nuts.

Yeah, I also couldn't stand Jared Allen's schtick.

But then he became a Panther.

"Parkman does his little shimmy...it makes the women here in Cleveland sick..."

I heard Newton being compared to Favre.... but they are completely different. And trust me... I saw plenty of Favre. All he did was run around with his arms in the air. More in a congratulatory... "nice play" to the receivers. Never bothered me in the least. I was a fan of his throughout his career - because it was still a game to him, and he played like a kid. Not a show.

Don't forget his finger pistols move.

Really? It's not too difficult, you've never made a typo on a message board?

I have for sure. Just not while insulting someone else's intelligence. That's where the bad form comes in.

Like I said. I couldn't see the comparison regarding celebrating. I was listening to ESPN radio on my way home when I heard and was like :wtf:

Yeah, that comparison is only about both players "having fun" and "enjoying the game." Not that they did similar celebrations.

Someone mentioned Favre.

Didn't he also like to do a "throat-slit" motion that got people all worked up?

Or was that someone else and my old memory is failing me.

Here it is:

NFL Cuts 'Throat' Taunting

Guess it was just a one-time thing.

Favre, who agreed the gesture was out of character for him, said he was reacting to a "throat-slash move" made by Detroit cornerback Robert Bailey in the Sept. 19 game between the two teams.

"I felt I owed him one," Favre said. "I know I'm always the guy saying how that stuff doesn't belong in the game, but it just irked me when he did it to us earlier this year."

Yeah... normally he laughed with the guy who would intercept him, or even high five.

Not really. Running around the field waving your helmet in the air is just being a total d-bag.
