fixed :)

that seems like a brutal deal for the pens

Lol. That just made my day being corrected. Holy hell that is just absurd. The better part is that Malkin has a NMC. Remember this contract 5 years from now. The Pens will be in the same situation that we are currently in. Now im hearing about Letang being extended?

The pens couldn't win with a stacked lineup now they'll have to do it with a lesser one due to even less cap space haha! Love it! Made my morning.

Is malkin worth that much money with the cap going down this year?

What are they gonna do if the cap goes down again next year?

projecting pretty far out, but i dont think anyone expects that.. if there's an eye opening change in the cap next year it will be a big jump up i think.. only reason it's going down this year is because the owners 'won' the lockout and got a 1 time reduction

We had rights to Hamhuis a few years ago. I read he wants $5.5 per year for 3/3 years. How about Genos deal? They know how to work the cap.

i kinda think the flyers will be quiet until they see who is available at 11 in the draft.. i think they need to add another top 6 forward, but if they end up w/ shinkaruk or someone similar at 11, they don't need to address that anymore

They may throw an offer sheet to pieterangelo or shattenkirk. Would be interesting.

after adding Streit i think we would need to make a move prior to putting an offer out there to any of these guys. I would love to have either of them but we would be stockpiled with Dmen if either would sign.

The only only way they don't match one of this is if they sign shatenkirk to a 7-8 mil/year deal. 5 first round picks and a shit contract is not the way to do it. I really really hope they don't try offer sheeting someone.

Offersheet Hamonic. Go ahead, I DARE YOU HOLMGREN.

The Isles could make your life miserable by offersheeting Giroux if given the chance.

CAP SPACE BABY!! It's a BEAUTIFUL thing to have.:D:

By the way the Isles won't be keeping Harper.

I don't think competent GMs let their star players hit RFA. :)

I wouldn't call Hamonic a star. He's a solid top 4 defenseman, who just finished his ELC. Besides if another team is stupid enough to give Hamonic an offersheet, let them. According to cap geek the Isles have the most cap space available.

Tavares never hit RFA. He's signed long term to a very cap friendly contract.

My family of Flyers fans hates the Streit trade. They don't think he's worth the contract the Flyers might give him.

I meant Giroux as a star. :D

I'd like Hamonic, but the price and compensation to get him out of New York would just be too much.

The only factor I'm worried about with the Streit contract is years. On a +35 this contract could hurt us a lot. But Streit will still really help our PP, and provide some much needed puck movement.

Boys! I'm fucking nervous that Snider is going to make Homer do something very stupid in the coming month or sooner. Before I post this article, just wanted to give my opinion on what I thinks going to happen. Hopefully I'm wrong. Bryzy and Briere are surely gone. I think that the Flyers are going to overpay the Kings for Bernier. I'll be fucking pissed if Read goes. As awaz mentioned, Read is the best we have for the buck. Fucking deal Coburn for a goaltender or top draft picks? It will shed some salary and we still need money to extend G. I feel very uncomfortable right now.

Streit reminds me of the Jagr situation. $4.5 was too much for his stat line for the Flyers. Would be nice but not at that price. some one with cap space can do it without creating a problem. Striet is going to want too much for what the flyer want.

How do you guys feel about Bob winning the Vezina? I'm honestly happy for Bob. However, a part of me is frustrated because we had this guy last season and traded him away because of Bryzy. We see how this worked out... I know that the Flyers did not see this coming.. I want to add that a similar situation in the near future may occur again w Errickson being picked up by Vancouver. Can the fucking Flyers get their shit together and be patient w goaltending? I'm curious if Bob would have put up these numbers in a Flyers uniform?
