Sorry to hear it but happy to listen.Couldn't find a more appropriate or whatever place for this.
Just received some really shitty news.
Last Friday, my younger brother's wife was in such pain that he rushed her to the hospital in Chatanooga. They found a couple of Gall Stones but took some blood because she appeared to be slightly Jaundiced. Then they did Cat scans and found a growth on her pancreas and a spot on her liver. They went in and took biopsies.
The news was bad. Malignant cancer in both organs. Can't be operated on. The best scenario from last Friday would have been a procure called Whipple Surgery. That involves removing the gall bladder, a section of the pancreas and a section of the liver. Very complicated and not done very often. From all indication, they can't do anything because the pancreas does not respond well to exposure to air. Worse if cancer is present. The liver tumor has obstructed the relief duct causing her jaundice. They will be able to go in and place an aortical stent in the duct and that will allow the liver to operate.
The oncologist, internal surgeon and pancreatic specialist will meet this afternoon and discuss all option. Right now Chemo appears to be the only treatment that she will be able to have.
She's 66 and looks 35. Been a beautiful girl her entire life. She had a tumor when she was 17 and the surgeon nearly killed her and destroyed her uterus. Never was able to have children so her and my brother adopted. They've been looking at houses near me and planned to move here. They took their house off the market yesterday.
Thanks for listening.
