As for the LB play, they have looked good stopping the run so far. However, they, along with the DBs, got a little lucky that Kaep and Gabbert were a little off on some of their throws. Overall, the D has looked good.
Our O-line so far looks a lot like they did last season: great in pass protection and mediocre, at best, in opening holes for the RBs. Of course, they are up against an outstanding D-line, so one can't expect too much. Hillman and CJ Anderson have done a good job of gaining yards anyway.
The big takeaway is the 10/17 on 3rd down conversions. We did something similar against Seattle I believe. Still I agree a better showing in the ground game would have been good to see. Hopefully Ball can come in and get that extra 1.5 yards per rush we will need.
At one point in the 4th qtr the broadcast flashed a stat where the Niners had allowed 217 or so rushing yards the week prior and just 55 this week. You have to believe a team that has been one of the more hard-nosed at defense the last few years zeroed in on stopping the run this week after allowing 217 rushing yards.
One thing I didn't like to see was that one rushing yard Manning himself added.Thankfully he came up grinning.
Makes ya cringe don't it? I can't believe Brady threw a tackle at Williams last week. Jesus H, it's fucking pre-season.
Like Ive said before I dont take much into preseason but I would like to see Emanuel Sanders involved in a preseason game. Its been D.T. and J.T. and not much else when it comes to starters.

I think 2 major plusses of yesterday that I forgot to mention...This team in 2 preseason games has yet to fumble! They have made this a huge focus of the off season and so far it has shown they have improved in this area.
The 2nd and just as important is it looks like we escaped with only minor injuries. We have played 2 very physical football teams and so far our team has held up. Need to hear for sure how Barrow's tests come back today but otherwise at this point Trevathan is the only significant player that could miss some time. Very different feeling compared to last year. I think the physical play in practice has actually helped these guys in these first 2 games to not only match the physicality but because of that be the ones pushing guys to the ground instead of being the ones pushed to the ground and risking injury.
Just thought I'd post this here. Latimer knocks Bethea the hell out
