Series Thread: Blue Jays in Town, 7/24-7/26

It will look like a Blue Jays home series. Won't even be able to tell it's our own home park, most likely.

Here are pitching probables

7/24: Felix vs. Hutchinson

7/25: Happ vs. Estrada (Estrada has allowed 2 or fewer runs in his last 6 starts, including taking a no-hitter into the 8th)

7/26: Walker vs. Buehrle (Buehlre hasn't allowed more than 2 earned runs in a start since May 29th)

Not real confident in this series. Blue Jays have a pretty good offense and we are getting 2 of their better performing pitchers right now.

But there isn't ever a reason to feel confident about this team.

Okay, so I'm no psychologist. I try really hard not to sound like a dilettante by talking about things I don't really understand.

But does anybody notice that Zunino seems to do a little better when he's worried his job as a starter may be on the line? He was doing a little better when Castillo was here, then dropped when he left. Now local and national press are talking about him getting sent to the minors, and I'm sorry, but he has to have read about it. Result? He starts hitting like a semi-pro for a change.

Stone, Divish, etc just need to keep pounding away with stories about his job being toast, heh.

I get that you like Trumbo Zona, but I think you have alot people's feeling wrong. No matter how well Trumbo does, it still doesn't negate that they had a catcher who could spell Zunino and or give them flexibility to have him sent down.

No, they had a catcher that hit .160/.179/.160. You or anyone else can fantasize that Castillo would have hit with Seattle if still here like he has with AZ, but that is the biggest leap possible in baseball. To me any fan that has watched the M's over the years would be an idiot to believe Castillo was the answer to anything Zunino related.

And this has nothing to do with me liking Trumbo. I like Trumbo better than we we already had. I like 100 other OF's better than I like Trumbo. It is just asinine that anyone believes Castillo leaving had any impact on this team. For Gods sake, he started 6 games for us and was 2-4 in those games. Back to life, back to reality.

Not sure why you keep saying Castillo wouldn't hit with the M's... You predict the future:?... He was only with us for 6 games... How many games did Trumbo play before he finally began to hit for us? Interesting how you extend Grace to Trumbo and not Castillo.... You give Castillo no grace for a small sample size w/ us but give Trumbo a big leash and by extending a large samples size... Glad Trumbo is playing well but stop with the Castillo would never had done anything with the M's... He by no means was a replacement for Zunino but I believe we would've won a few more games with Castillo... Just from the shear fact of having Castillo come off the bench to PH for Zunino late in the games...
