They need more 'offsite' promos in the style that Mustafa Ali was doing when he got a bit of a push on Smackdown not too long ago..or Jake the Snake's promo on Dynamite a few weeks ago.....those can work.

completely agreed.

could also, In theory, help with the wrestlers who don’t want to go to the performance center.

Last week it looked like WWE had figured that out. We got taped or backstage bits from like KO, Rollins, and others. But this week on Raw several people came out and did a promo alone in the ring with a mic.

WWE backstage mentions both rusev and lio rush to be a part of the end of Lana/Lashley.

literally like 12 hours later the segment didn’t age well...

For those wondering, all of the main roster WWE talents that were released on Wednesday do have 90 day non-compete clauses. That means they can’t work anywhere else until July 15th.'

So looks like heartless WWE is still paying everyone they released for 90 days, imagine that. They didn't just fire them and leave them with nothing.

Yes, every talent who gets released and gets a 90 day no-compete still gets paid their downside guarantee for 3 months to essentially sit at home and do nothing.

It's something that is agreed upon when they sign their contracts.

I believe that the NXT people are only getting 30 days from what I've read.

If they're talent then they aren't under main roster deals(as NXT was still a developmental brand when the contracts were signed) meaning yes they would get less.

If they were NXT employees(which ring announcers, backstage announcers, referees, etc usually are) then what they got is dependent on if they were furloughed or not. If they were flat out let go then they would've gotten severance pay but if they were furloughed then WWE plans on bringing them back at a later date meaning they don't get a severance but they can still keep their health benefits and if they really want to they can file for unemployment in the meantime until WWE brings them back.

Same applies to main roster employees depending on their deal. People like Finlay, Sarah Stock, Lance Storm, Shane Helms, referee Mike Chioda, etc are employees so they either received severance or were furloughed.

Someone like Kurt Angle who was also a producer but sometimes appeared as a talent would get something based on the type of deal he signed. Could be a special contract(think HHH back when he was COO but also still wresting part time, he actually had 2 WWE contracts 1 as an executive and 1 as a talent) where he gets severance and his downside guarantee for 90 days.

There’s no new names there, they were all cut on Wednesday.

I hadn’t heard those. Must’ve missed them if they were on here

I'm figuring that Angle was probably also under a Legends deal as well as producer. He'd be a great guy to have as a producer backstage somewhere or to open a wrestling school because in his prime, there weren't many that were better and he picked up the business extremely quick.

Ratings were in decline and the initial novelty wore off. There is absolutely no proof it was on its way to sustainable success

The XFL temporarily folded because they received zero income from gates because of the virus and were still paying for venues and didn’t receive the millions of dollars from tv revenue that they were guaranteed after their first season. Spring football in the Vince set it up this time was perfect, after the NFL, before the NBA became relevant, before the MLB really started. From the weekend after the Super Bowl until the NFL draft is prime for a spring league, that was all but officially partnering with the NFL.

Glad to see some of the big rumors turned out to be false.

NXT came out basically unscathed. Especially compared to everyone else.

Did i speak too soon? lol

Well he was an NXT UK guy and was really only an enhancement guy at this point so I don't think it's a big loss. And he's a guy who will do much better on the indies given his name value so he's probably happy as well.

The Revival are now officially the The Revolt (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)

And not really an official name change, just going back to what once was with Karl Anderson
