Redskins fire GM Bruce Allen, and are expected to hire Ron Rivera as HC. I'm not a big fan of Rivera, but Redskins fans should be happy as hell....it's at least a stay relevant hire for the time being.

We know that Freddy got fingered in Cleveland.

Cowboys fans, that Jags fan.....this is your day as well I'm sure.

He got the job because the last coach got fired for (correctly) seeing that Eli was cooked, and he didn't get a QB for another season after that. And they could have had an arguably better QB or a definitively better QB by trading down in 2018 (Lamar Jackson would have been there if they moved).

So 2018 is arguably a lost season, and they improved once they were able to bench Eli in 2019.

As long as Gettleman stays, they're going to stink. But pinning this on Shurmur is silly.

Maybe he should stop taking such jobs then? It’s the definition of insanity to keep doing the same unsuccessful thing over and over and expecting a different result. I don’t think 95% of HCs can come in and turn around a losing franchise on their own. And Shurmur isn’t among that 5% either...
